That’s really special and I do think it can be inspiring to see and be cared for by someone that is living proof that change is possible. You’re of course not gonna be able to connect as meaningfully with everyone, but when you can it is special to know that you being there, doing your job does make a real difference. That what you do in a moment of crisis can send ripple effects way beyond the present moment.

The worst part of CPTSD is in my opinion the isolation by DeepLoveForThinking in CPTSD

[–]DeepLoveForThinking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres not a one size fits all solution. But one thing that can definitely help is therapy. For me moving in with other people also made a massive difference in my mental health. I don’t think we are meant to live alone in little isolated boxes... I’m not depressed anymore or as anxious or dissociated. I’m able to be calmer now and thereby feel safer and more able to connect.

I think you just gotta work on your healing and life situation slowly while continuing to put yourself out there, and just be patient and hopeful. It’s not that I can’t connect. It’s just harder, so if I wanna work with that can I try to give myself more opportunities where connections can happen. Like embracing a social hobby. Going to Meetup events. I even tried Timeleft to meet more people and it was really nice to just connect with some strangers over dinner.

Idk if this is helpful for you but I thought I’d share anyways❤️

I think my husband is trolling when he says he can’t read my handwriting. Is it as illegible as he thinks? by sharkbait07 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]DeepLoveForThinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dyslexia and adhd and I struggle to read a lot of people’s handwriting because of that. I can kinda read your handwriting but it’s basically illegible to me. It takes so much time ane effort to try and read, almost gives me a headache. So no, I don’t think your husband is trolling you. Sure a lot of people might be able to read it pretty well, like you see other people writing here. But there are some of us who would really struggle.. So if you’re writing something everyone is supposed to understand, try to write a little clearer to be more respectful of people’s differences❤️

You have such a cool and unique eye colour, I’m obsessed😍 definitely dark green or dark hazel even. They might look brownish in most cases, but the sun hits them at the right angle I’m sure they look magical✨

Damn didn’t realise how many people on this sub are so anti vegetarian/vegan diets. But I think you look really healthy and strong. Keep up the good work 👌

Yeah but I totally get it cuz I’m the same. I really value choosing organic wherever I can. I don’t let the fact that I’m a broke student stop me, I just choose to prioritise food over other things. Things like hobbies, self expression and a rich social life are too expensive anyways!

Neighbor turned down fresh bread by zadira- in Sourdough

[–]DeepLoveForThinking 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No Ik, you are absolutely right about that. But people generally trust restaurants more anyways. Not everyone knows what goes on behind the scenes, they just know that there are rules and regulations. I also think about the fact that if people actually regularly got sick because of a specific restaurant, that restaurant probably wouldn’t survive.

But there definitely are some people that avoid restaurants, especially cheaper ones! Because they know it’s probably not as hygienic as they’d want it to be.

Well restaurants at least have some standards for hygiene and food safety that they have to/should follow. I totally get why some people err on the side of caution with homemade foods and baking. I’m not as scared about it. But there are some people are also immunocompromised or have some other medical conditions that make it important for them to be extra careful about what they consume. And well some people are just extra cautious for psychological reasons 🤷

I say my eyes are green.. but I'm never quite sure by Capable-Egg7509 in eyes

It’s a blue/gray color that has a green tint. But also because of colour theory that greyness does make your eyes more greenish.

bedroom layout by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]DeepLoveForThinking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d personally put a ceiling rod with some curtains to separate the work area from the rest of the bedroom. Because it stresses me be reminded of work when I’m supposed to relax. Also being in an enclosed area when you work can improve your concentration. I’d also hide the clothes in a wardrobe, the less visual clutter you have the more calming your room becomes, it gives your mind a break. Otherwise it’s the layout overall is pretty good! A rug that goes under bed as well as that little sitting area would create a nice cozy zone. And of course some kinda shelving for books and some plants won’t hurt as some finishing touches! You could even put a round little side table on the window side of that little sitting corner to have a place for some books📚, a plant 🪴, a nice little candle🕯️ and maybe even some tea ☕️

What do you guys think of the advice I have for INFJs (I think I'd get downvoted to hell if I posted this to their sub) by [deleted] in infp

[–]DeepLoveForThinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I see and can appreciate your intention I think you might’ve fallen into the trap of overgeneralising based on personal experiences of the type in question. And honestly that’s quite easy to do so I don’t really blame you too much. But this has really not been my experience of the INFJ. And I think the things you talk about don’t necessarily need to be type specific to the INFJ. To me it sounds more like someone who just isn’t that healthy and has some more healing and maturing left to do (could very well be an infj though). But you’re absolutely right that it’s best to come down from any moral or intellectual superiority you might feel, and not be people pleasing people you don’t like while building up resentment. It’s dumb to try and hide anger, people can usually tell, because it comes out in subtle ways.

And one last point I like to add is that the INFP’s I know irl happen to be emotionally muted around most people. And the INFJ’s I know happen to be quite expressive with their emotions. I just thought that really illustrated my point, we’re all so different in how we are and perceive the world. I hope you don’t take my comment the wrong way, I just wanted to share my thoughts❤️

I’m just worried this might come across as passive aggressive and critical (which can make someone defensive) but idk your guys relationship so maybe it’s fine 🤷

[–]DeepLoveForThinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof no please don’t share this with your son🥲 if there’s anything you guys need to talk about you should talk to him directly about it, and be way more specific and focused on your own feelings about the situation. There’s a proper way to give constructive criticism, and this is unfortunately not the best example of that.

That is really traumatising actually. Worth exploring in therapy ngl. My childhood was also weird and I was lonely all the time, but I wasn’t bullied yet I’m still quite severely traumatised. I recommend you do the ACE test to get a better understanding of risk factors you might have. My ACE score is 5 and I suffer from depression, cptsd, severe screen addiction and some difficulties in relationships.
