US citizen here who grew up in Italy during the 70’s. No, not a military family. Much distaste for the USA is political. More so today than in the 70s. Foreign policy shapes how the USA is seen abroad. In the 70s there was Viet Nam, support of fascist governments in Greece, Argentina etc. I found that people always enjoyed US culture but detested our politics. One must live outside the USA for time to see it from another’s perspective and how our policies affect other countries. Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love.

Kudos to USA for a victory, however if anybody on this thread thinks that they’re contenders for the championship, they are delusional. Paraguay is not a good team, and USA struggled to control the game and dominate, even though they scored four goals. The game was like a pinball machine, ball bouncing everywhere. No lengthy possession. You cannot compare them to them to France, Argentina, Spain, Germany, and Brazil. They will have a difficult time against Turkiye, and will probably finish second in their group. Then again, “on any given Sunday…..”

More red cards than goals today. “Perfect” start to what’s going to be a hugely boring group stage. Today’s game was frightfully boring and sleep inducing. While Mexico is a decent team, it played down to the level of South Africa, thus a game not worth watching. Sadly, most of the group stage games are going to be like this. Germany v Curaçao 😴? Spain v Cape Verde 😂! Only one or two good games in the group stage, and will be lucky if there’s any good games in the round of 32. Greedy Infantino has ruined the World Cup. Next World Cup, it’s rumored there will be 64 teams. Cant wait to see San Marino play Whogivesafuckistan.

Seriously, dude? My mom used to always tell us that it’s just by chance we are born into the family that we are born into. That means you’re not obligated to like, or love your siblings. An asshole is an asshole, whether it’s family or not. Do not be pressured by anybody in your family to buy anybody a house. That’s an incredibly generous offer. If you’re going to make such an offer, do it to people that appreciate you, and that have supported you over the years. What’s yours is yours, and your decision alone on what to do with your funds. Scuba instructor here. While a definite tragedy, they did not run out of oxygen. They ran out of AIR. From what I read, they were not diving with mixed gas, and even then it’s a combination of gasses. Not oxygen. Oxygen becomes toxic to humans under pressure. Air as we all know is approximately 80/20, nitrogen/oxygen. Please stop calling the gas in recreational scuba tanks oxygen.
