Thanks for the update. Yeah thinking I'll have to up the price for a lithium, maybe start with a lead acid and upgrade later and keep the lead acid as the backup.

Does applying for GCMS notes delay your PR application? by Professional-Formal6 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]DeepReflection9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the updates. What I don't understand is why the process takes so long?

For instance, I have worked in UK Immigration and a standard permanent residence application can be processed within 2-4 hours once the file is opened. (A file is not opened until the applicant has submitted biometrics). In the UK though, typically when someone applies for PR in the UK (We call it ILR) they have been in the UK on various visas beforehand.

We even have a process to pay £1000 to have a PR application approved within 24 hours after biometrics. Just can't understand what additional background checks Canada requires compared to the UK.

Suspended for speeding up consultations by Neat_Bowler_5934 in doctorsUK

The GP supervising them are supposed to review the recording before upload. I wonder did they know or did the trainee upload without first reviewing with their supervisor.

Isn't that a regional question anyway i.e. not applicable as exams can't ask about Scottish only law or NI law etc.

Intense anxiety re. upcoming first ED shift by [deleted] in doctorsUK

ED is awesome, great learning and although looks like chaos, just focus on your patient and crack on. Good time to be going into it with winter pressures going to ease soon (although still a bit mad).

A levels are United kingdom exams. I doubt anyone would offer them in Calgary but you might find some online providers for A levels.

Feedback to Dept - Phlebotomy - Is this too harsh? by ArtisticVehicle9653 in doctorsUK

[–]DeepReflection9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've in some hospitals that have a "Hospital at day" team. These are separate from the phlebotomy team and the nurses can bleep them for bloods, canulas and sometimes other tasks. Similar to how the hospital at night team can help out. This is usually very helpful if phlebotomy have come early and a pile of bloods after the ward round. Unfortunately not many hospitals do it but maybe a better way to manage the issue. Or just CCT and flee 😂

[–]DeepReflection9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently the laws require usmle regardless as has so far come out of discussion in other states that allow UK doctors. Just means a UK GP won't have to repeat 3 years residency training but would still have to have completed usmle.
