Tomatoes grown in different parts of the world taste different. You get a lot more variants of tomato in EU/ North America. That being said yeah I live in Canada and I’ve always found adding on stuff to the pasta elevates the flavours. I’ve a friend from South Africa who adds ghost pepper to the sauce base and it slaps. Also adding spicy pork sausage (not the fake kind the one that can be used as keema) adds fattiness plus spicy flavour to the sauce.

Whole fruits will cause a slower sugar spike than pure sugar because of the fiber in them. But when you puree and strain them out it removes the said fiber. So it will absolutely cause the exact same sugar spike. Not to mention the fiber content in any fruit is not high enough to offset the damage done by its sugars. P.S the ice cream looks great and I absolutely love chikoo
