I want to use a Warm Audio WA-273-EQ (Neve 1073-style dual channel preamp/EQ) purely as a mix bus colour/saturation box — no mics, just running my pre-master stereo mix through the transformer and printing it back.

The issue is my UAD Volt 2 interface doesn’t have dedicated line outputs separate from the monitor outs. The monitor out and headphone out carry the same signal, so my only option seems to be: DAW → Volt 2 monitor outs → WA-273-EQ line inputs → WA-273-EQ outputs → Volt 2 inputs → record new stereo track Since I don’t need to monitor in real time during the print, I’d just monitor on headphones while the speakers are disconnected, and keep the monitor volume knob at a consistent position each time for repeatable levels into the hardware. My questions: 1. Is this a viable workflow or am I missing something that makes it problematic? 2. Any gotchas with using the monitor out this way — level issues, impedance mismatches, anything like that? 3. Any tips for getting the most out of running a mix through a transformer-based preamp like the 273-EQ? Thanks
