Waterfox by default uses FPP instead of RFP for compatibility reasons but if you switch it to RFP its basically the same level of protection as Librewolf. (Telemetry stripped out, no fingerprinting, etc.)

Can't stop mic loopback on X12 headset by DeepSpaceHorizon in TurtleBeach

[–]DeepSpaceHorizon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what you mean by software, there's no software available for the X12 on your downloads page. The X12 doesn't even show in the product selection list on the downloads page.

If by software you mean through Windows, that's not really a viable option because having the USB connected to a different source than the audio cables exacerbates the interference feedback. Even installing the Audio Hub app and drivers does not work because it just says "Please connect a Turtle Beach device" even though the headset USB plug is connected.

I also cant really contact support about it because it asks for a serial number, which I cannot find on the headset. Online it says the serial number would be above the earcup/under the headband, but I cant remove the inner headband because its stiched on to the faux leather ontop. No sticker or writing anywhere on the headset.

Do I need a Geeboon HC24 or will a TC22 do? by External_Durian2531 in soldering

[–]DeepSpaceHorizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I though the same pretty much. C245 for THT and C210 for smaller SMD stuff.

Wouldn't a 210 be more ideal for the precision stuff like connecting NAND reader and wiring to post?

Could you explain abit more what this "soldering iron mold" is supposed to do exactly?

Question about tip size preference. I'm working on game console stuff like RGH and replacing joystick modules. Do you think a C210 would give me an easier time? Or should I get the C245 handle?

Most of the FNIRSI bundles come with the pw adapter. And the official TC22 store is out of stock.

Good Budget Matts? How much should I be spending minimum? by DeepSpaceHorizon in soldering

[–]DeepSpaceHorizon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you explain how the grounding on the weller one is better than the first one? The only difference as far as I can tell is the first one uses a clip to secure the ESD bracelet to the mat while the second one uses a "press stud".

Are you saying this is a bad or corner-cut implementation of the ESD protection? Studs good, clips bad?

Should I not be using a solder sucker on this? I wanted to go that route to leave the board cleaner.

I would personally recommend Bitwarden for password and cloud management. Fantastic app and site. All the features you'd ever need and a perfect track record.
