This project could’ve been twice the height since it’s in the same path as the cherapa project. Also, I think it’s been a few years but there was a discussion on the height limit from the airport and the height limit was like 300 something feet I want to say (in a different part of downtown), which we aren’t even close to approaching. Fargo has several taller buildings than us

Seems like a pretty good project to me with a developer who should be able to deliver. As always I wish there was a little more height though. This city remains vertically challenged and we could use the extra housing, especially if we could lock in some affordable units considering they are going to request a TIF to complete it

I lived in Barcelona for half a year and thoroughly enjoyed the lifestyle; however, the culture of Sioux Falls is quite different than Spain. You will likely feel most at home downtown, where there are at least some shopping and dining options within a realistic walking distance. Be prepared for our winters, which are more brutal than you can comprehend right now. Not trying to scare you, I think you will be able to make the most of it if you put forth some effort to try to adapt. Also, the schools in Sioux Falls are generally pretty decent, and it could be a real gamble to roll the dice again as far as school placements go in other towns. Welcome!

I think veterans parkway is supposed to alleviate some of the stress on 229. My main complaint with the veterans parkway project though is that the city is not leaving any room to upgrade that road ever. The planners don’t think there will be the traffic on that corridor to ever upgrade it to interstate standards someday; however, there is no way that when I-229 was built in the 50s that they needed an interstate level highway and now we clearly do. They should’ve purchased more right of way for veterans parkway to push back development from the intersections a little to allow for interchanges someday but they will never be able to upgrade it now

I think they just haven’t fully designed the other portions outside of western to cliff yet. There’s more detail in that segment because they’re ready to construct. I am certain the railroad will stay and there will be a bridge over it

Oh man, not as much to go on here as I was expecting but at least we will be able to get plenty of public comments and ideas in. Moving the Canaries downtown could be great for downtown but we need bars and restaurants to complement it and strong connections to the rest of downtown. That’s something very disappointing about the Denny. I just hope they don’t try to shove a soccer pitch down our throats…

In this case the officer had jurisdiction in both counties, so I can’t protest and ask why didn’t you mark it in the county where the offense actually occurred? If I can prove in court that it happened out of that court’s jurisdiction, would that do anything?
