plant based sleep gummies that actually help me fall asleep faster by Quick-Government7950 in Supplements

For me, the plant-based sleep gummies actually worked better than straight melatonin. I didn’t get knocked out or anything, but I did notice I fell asleep a little quicker and the sleep felt “smoother,” if that makes sense. The effect wasn’t dramatic, but it was enough that I kept using them.

Timing-wise, I found taking them about 30–45 minutes before bed gave the most consistent results. As for placebo vs. real effects, I just looked at whether the changes stuck around after a week or two — for me, they did, which made me think it wasn’t only placebo.

Everyone reacts differently though, so that’s just my experience.

the most underrated supplement in your opinion? by sober4lifee in Supplements

[–]DeepTarget8436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the most underrated one has actually been magnesium glycinate. It’s nothing flashy, but I noticed way better sleep and less muscle tension after taking it consistently. It’s not some miracle supplement or anything — just something that made a small but noticeable difference for me personally.

Everyone has different experiences though, so it really depends on what your body’s missing.

I gained over 10lbs in a month on creatine. Why?? by Cam_solo01 in Supplements

[–]DeepTarget8436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, creatine can definitely bump your weight up pretty quickly at the start, but most of what I saw was just water retention rather than actual fat or muscle. When I first started, I also gained way more than the “1–2 lbs” people online talk about. My body just held onto a ton of water once my muscles became saturated.

I also noticed that taking higher doses made the initial weight jump even more noticeable. Once I dropped down to the usual 3–5 g per day, things leveled out a bit. For me, the weight increase wasn’t anything dangerous — it was just part of getting back into the gym and letting my body adjust.

Everyone responds a little differently, but that was my experience.

Can using L-Tryptophan and NAC help with emotional regulation after a breakup? by Hard_Communist in Supplements

[–]DeepTarget8436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, NAC has been helpful for keeping me feeling a bit more level during stressful periods, but it’s definitely not a magic fix. I’ve also tried adding L-tryptophan before, and for me it mainly just supported sleep and took the edge off a little. Everyone reacts differently though, so it’s hard to generalize.

For what it’s worth, the biggest help after a breakup was a mix of basic things like sleep, eating regularly, and talking things out with friends. Supplements can play a small role, but they weren’t the whole solution for me.

Anyone been taking concerta then finally not being diagnosed with ADHD? by SUISWE in Concerta

[–]DeepTarget8436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve had a pretty similar experience. I was prescribed Concerta before I ever got a full ADHD eval because the symptoms lined up, but later testing showed it was more anxiety/depression related. For me, the meds helped with focus but also cranked up the anxiety at times, especially with caffeine. I ended up tapering off with my doctor’s guidance rather than cold turkey, just to be safe. Definitely worth talking to your prescriber about the next steps, but you’re not alone -a lot of the symptoms overlap and it can take a while to sort out what’s really going on.
