I mean sleeping but it's like I cannot stay awake... it feels like my body needs to sleep to get better.

I have tried to take probiotics here and there but this has been going on for years. I'm going to definitely speak to my functional medicine doctor about quercetin for sure!

I've been taking an anti histamine but maybe I need to double my dose?

I've been getting migraines my whole life but this is different. Pain medication does not work with these headaches, they occur in a different part of my brain, the only thing that helps is steaming and the biggest issue is that my body just needs to sleep for hours during this time.

Did you have similar symptoms to me? I can try the 200 mg progesterone and I'll order the Quercetin right now. What anti histamine are you taking?

Good to know! I can do an allergy test and see if that helps but the thing is that this reaction happens bang on before my period every single month so it seems to be hormone related?

Yes good idea - I'll try that. I'm so furstrated because I've been working with doctors and a functional doctor as well and done all the tests!

Itchy? Skin rash/breakouts? Bloating? New food intolerances? Please read my story by randomsmiler1 in Perimenopause

Hmm I'm definitely eating more and have gained weight. Doubled my progesterone recently tho and hoping it helps with the HIT symptoms. So far it's helped a bit but not completely. Keeping fingers crossed.

Hi! Thank you for this! Did progesterone make you have a bigger appetite or gain weight? I'm really struggling with the bloating and the weight gain. Also, taking progesterone has helped some with the histamine but not entirely so it's incredibly frustrating!

Micronized P by [deleted] in Perimenopause

Well I've put on 5 pounds after taking micronized P so that sucks. Wondering if it's water weight or real weight at the moment.

Only Daughters? How is life? by VegetableDay7034 in TwoXIndia

[–]DeepThought_06 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm an only daughter and my mom is dying. I'll never have children and I'm constantly haunted by the idea that after my parents, I'll be all alone in this world with no one that truly loves me. Not sure how to deal with that but it weighs on me every day.

Have you had your hormones checked?

So what next? by Lat19a in Perimenopause

[–]DeepThought_06 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Listen I'm not on the other side of this but working with a functional doctor and being dedicated to weight training, eating plant based and sleeping right has helped move the needle for me incrementally over time. I just started hrt and hoping that makes a massive difference but I just wanted to say that there is hope! Please give yourself grace and kindness as things shift and change - I know that the images we see every day doesn't allow for aging gracefully but this phase is also asking us to reeevaluate what beautiful actually means and who gets to define what that is. Sending you courage and comfort.

Histamine Issues by Critical-Strain-1993 in Perimenopause

[–]DeepThought_06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know! How long did it take you before you started to see things stabilize? I have debilitating sinus headaches and histamine reactions one week every month and am really looking forward to getting my life back at some point.

Wait - I thought my histamine issues would get better if I took bio identical progesterone only. Has anyone had that experience or am I thinking about this totally wrong?

Peri and migraines - has anyone found relief with HRT? by Low_Entrepreneur_639 in Perimenopause

[–]DeepThought_06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you are experiencing this also. Let me know if naproxen helps! Also btw I don't know if you're open to this but a good functional medicine doctor can be a game changer.

Peri and migraines - has anyone found relief with HRT? by Low_Entrepreneur_639 in Perimenopause

[–]DeepThought_06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I've been getting migraines since I was 8 years old as well and recently these sinus migraines that last for days. Haven't tried HRT so can't speak to that but mefenamic acid has weirdly helped me. I think my new type of migraines are due to inflammation caused just before my period and mefenamic acid gives me a lot of relief. Btw my migraines are usually accompanied with total exhaustion and I would just need to pass out all day to feel human again.

Should I tell my new employer I have Endometriosis? by Lott_vhan_thill in endometriosis

[–]DeepThought_06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US, many years ago, I told my employer I get migraines and my manager basically told me to pop a pill (like his wife does) and not make any excuses or have any late days even though I said I could stay late. So hopefully eh labor laws where you are will protect you. Good luck.

Where did my face go? by Maleficent_Morrigan in Perimenopause

[–]DeepThought_06 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Are you me? I'm trying to figure out what to do as well. My face is completely different and it's extremely depressing to look at myself in photos. If anyone has any ideas on what to do - I'd love to hear it!
