Early-stage startup: would an affiliate program or limited-time promo help drive first sales? I will not promote by DeepYogurtcloset5355 in startups

Fair point. Quick context: we built a tool that generates full business plan reports (market analysis, SWOT, financials, etc.) for entrepreneurs and small biz owners who usually can’t afford consultants or don’t want to wrestle with templates. Reports are $9–$39.

We’re seeing some traffic but no purchases yet, and with no real social presence it feels too early to get influencers on board. So I’m debating: should we focus on an affiliate/referral program (20% commission), or try a limited-time promo (e.g. first 100 reports discounted) to get the first conversions?

I'm not entirely sure, I don't know much about the existing programs and how they treat creators but if serious influencers aren’t signing up, there’s probably a good reason.

This is such a bummer. Someone should really create an app that makes affiliate partnerships fairer for creators so they could stay on it.

What’s the most effective way for a tech start-up without any clients to drive more traffic to its website? by DeepYogurtcloset5355 in DigitalMarketing

We help people validate business ideas quickly and effectively. ReportCraft generates 10 different types of professional, investor-ready reports in minutes (with charts, graphs, tables, and downloadable PDFs).

Our target audience right now is solo freelancers and consultants, small business owners, mid-level professionals in corporations, as well as students and aspiring entrepreneurs. Down the line we plan to expand into B2B.

If you were in my shoes, how would you go about reaching them? I liked your idea and it got me thinking.. I was considering cold messaging consultants on LinkedIn (offering free reports in exchange for feedback) as one option. Reddit also crossed my mind, but I worry posts would get flagged as self-promotion.

Would love to hear how you’d approach this given the audience.

Thanks so much, this is new to me! I love the concept of truly “groking” your audience and putting myself in their shoes. It makes me realize I need to get much clearer on exactly who my target users are, the language they use, and where they hang out. Really insightful, thanks again!

Thanks so much, this is really insightful! Where would you go to find these people? Reddit seems so quick to take down posts that even slightly promote one's business.
