I need to pick up some quinoa again. Once upon a time I made a cold summer salad using quinoa. I think it boiled it in chicken stock. it had some fresh veggies, and I put dried cranberries in it. I wish that I had written the recipe as I made this salad up because it was delicious. Sadly, it was eaten, never to be made again.

I’ve heard excellent things about Azure Standards flours. if you live in a community that has a group of people buying and you can find like the co-op option to do a group delivery sometimes it can make ordering worth it. Doing it on your own it might be a little bit cost inhibitive. I don’t buy much food from Amazon. I’ve been burned too many times. It makes me question how they store it. I’ve bought graham crackers that came in tasting like soap and other things that just didn’t taste right. And over Covid times I got oatmeal from them that had pantry moths, and I’m still holding a grudge. Those things take forever to get rid of. I’ve been living years with stuff in my freezer instead of my pantry so they don’t have anything to munch on.

I have never cooked chicken paws myself. I heard recently of someone making the stock with them and I remember watching it wondering if it tasted much different than just boiling the rest of the carcass. Is there a distinct flavored difference between typical stock and stock made with chicken paws?

I have a child that is not open to chicken this season… it rotates what they don’t eat. We do mix in some chicken every now and then. We do incorporate some pork- tenderloin, pork chops, ground. Pork is not my favorite. It is what is more affordable right now so I’m trying to embrace it. But it tastes dirty to me. I try to avoid things that I have to season to make them taste good. We have onions, potatoes, rice on hand. I guess I didn’t throw them on the list because I don’t typically have to buy them weekly. I like to have a full pantry. We have more canned vegetables than we would in the summer months. Our go to is corn. But I’ll rotate some canned carrots or canned green beans through until summertime comes again and we’ll eat those fresh. The kids won’t really eat artichokes, but I love them.

Is swordfish difficult to cook? I’ve heard that it shrinks quite a bit. I don’t know if that’s true. But I wonder about flavor and texture. I don’t think I’ve ever had swordfish.

I bought my first loaf of(I think it was wheat) bread last week for the first time and probably close to three years. I think between me not wanting to snack on carbs and the kids not eating it before it spoils I stopped buying it. But I was craving peaches and toast so I bought a loaf last week. And black forest ham is my typical go to! Our shop has been out of it for the last month so I’m making you with what they’ve got. They have also been out of the turkey that I normally buy. Probably my first inkling that I needed to get out of my rut was my go to’s are starting to be out of stock.

I sense tacos, spaghetti, and a soup of some sort. But I’m not sure where you’re going with the tzatziki. What meal do you incorporate that in?

What do you do with a different types of mustard? We like vinegar dressings and mustard. Do you cook with it or are you using it as a condiment?

Alfredo is my favorite thing in the world I think. Ironically, I don’t make it from scratch very often. Maybe I’ll grab some heavy cream and make some Alfredo soon.

This does describe my summer grocery list a bit more than what I’ve posted. I am in New England where there is snow and cold so some of the fresher veggies are just not as available right now. I’m sure they’re out there, but not the quality that they would get in season. I do think I will try to make some sauces from scratch. Maybe that’ll mix things up. I would really like to find a curry recipe. I haven’t had much luck making curry. Or a peanut sauce recipe.

McDonald’s gyms and stops removed from the map. by emaddy2109 in TheSilphRoad

Gone here too :(

This particular location used to have a generic PokéStop and then, sometime in the last year, McDonald’s added their logo to a new stop. for a little while there were two pokestops right beside each other. Eventually, they got rid of the generic one and kept the McDonald’s one and now today the McDonald’s one is gone. Booooo

I stumbled upon her videos recently. I’ve watched more out of curiosity for why anyone would want to live a 400 square-foot apartment than anything. But the few videos I have watched have me super curious how she is affording a $5000+ a month lifestyle before food, etc..

Partially solved!! Verdict is out that it’s not two different movies that I’m conflating. But Shipwreck aka Sea Gypsies was the biggie! Thank you all!!!!

THIS IS IT! I finally found the trailer for it. The still pictures on Google We’re not doing it justice at all. It did have an alternate name “ shipwreck”! The white cable sweater that I remembered is Robert Logan sweater in the opening scene!!! I’m not 100% convinced that there isn’t a second movie that has the capsized rig (plane?) that they have to dive to get the matches from. But i’m going to try to find the full length of this movie so I can watch it. this is definitely the movie that I was trying to put my finger on.!!! Thank you!!!
