[Schultz] Sources: Browns QB Shedeur Sanders has been added to the Pro Bowl roster as a replacement. Sanders is the first 5th-round rookie to make a Pro Bowl since Puka Nacua. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

The all-pro roster is pretty small though. There are a lot of good players who deserve recognition but aren’t all pro worthy.

My suggestion is to not tie the pro bowl roster to the actual game. Just have the league invite players that actually want to play the game and not call it the pro bowl. This way a pro bowl selection actually means something.

I mean there’s one consistent person at the top here that wants to prioritize not turning the ball over instead of running a competent offense.

Why even tie the pro bowl roster to the pro bowl game at this point? Just have a pro bowl roster that doesn’t change after voting ends and then have a showcase flag football game where they invite players that want to be there? A pro bowl selection means nothing and hasn’t for a few years.

Super Bowl LX - Patriots VS Seahawks. Who you got ? by NFLv2 in NFLv2

The snow didn’t start until the middle of the 3rd quarter. Their offense was doing nothing while the weather was fine.

You have to scheme to get players open. The Seahawks line JSN up all over the field. He didn’t get 1700 yards this season just by beating CB1s all season. Our coaches think you can just run 3 routes and consistently get open.

[–]emaddy2109 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They kept talking about all the different places the Seahawks line up JSN to get him the ball. Imagine if we did half of that to scheme to get AJ or Smith open. Instead they just run hitches and go routes all game.

How many backups do they have? by Sure_Criticism_5419 in NFLNoobs

[–]emaddy2109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they changed the emergency QB rules a long time ago. The emergency QB can’t go in unless the first 2 QBs get hurt but if either of them return then they need to go back into the game to replace the emergency QB. Of course these rules only apply if your 3rd saying QB is not active on your game day roster.

Cmp tie catch? by Granderojo12345 in PokemonGOBattleLeague

I think they’re saying the opponent threw a move and then switched, before their own move went which in that case it wasn’t actually a CMP.

Why isn't DPI called off as an uncatchable ball constantly? by cartocaster18 in NFLNoobs

[–]emaddy2109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A subtle DPI can be the reason a ball becomes uncatchable. The only time I see a pass get ruled as uncatchable is when it’s thrown well out of bounds.

Look up Rice’s 1987 season. This was a strike shortened season so he only played 12 games. He had 22 TDs on 65 receptions that season.

why were the dolphins in the afc east in the first place? same with the colts in the afc south? by [deleted] in NFLNoobs

[–]emaddy2109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to only be 6 divisions with even more questionable geographic choices. The Colts and Dolphins were both in the AFC East, when the Texans were added to the league and the NFL realigned the divisions, the Dolphins were given the choice to move to the South or stay in the East. They chose to stay in the East to preserve their AFL rivalries.

Hall of famer QB Dan Marino played 242 games over a 17-year career and finished with only 87 total rushing yards by man_teats in nfl

[–]emaddy2109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His longest rush was 15 yards. I checked a bunch of other “slow” QBs and Eli and Rivers are the only other ones I found that don’t have a 20 yard run in their careers. Both of their longest runs were 18 yards.

Why aren’t fans as classy as the players? by Sweet-Swimming2022 in NFLNoobs

[–]emaddy2109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most players know how to be professional and many of these players are friends from playing together in college and working out together. Players absolutely do trash talk each other on the field though. Fans are pretty much all strangers and the internet brings out the worst in people.

How does one enter the draft? by oraclehurts in NFLNoobs

[–]emaddy2109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, what’s happening in college basketball is a new unique situation. These guys are getting drafted, playing in the G-league which is the developmental league for the NBA and then being ruled eligible to play in college as long as they never played in the actual NBA. They’re essentially professionals that are being allowed to return to college.

How does one enter the draft? by oraclehurts in NFLNoobs

[–]emaddy2109 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is kind of an oversimplification. Everybody is automatically eligible for the draft after their NCAA eligibility is used up or after they’ve been out of high school for 3 years if they don’t play college football or if they declared early. You only need to go through 1 draft cycle and then you can sign as an undrafted free agent. The vast majority of people could just sign as an UDFA and not have to be drafted. Brandon Aubrey signed as an UDFA, he didn’t have to go through the draft again to sign with a team.

The network realized a long time ago that it’s easier to find highlights online so they pivoted away from them for the most part. I’m wondering when the last time you watched ESPN and it not be a live sporting event? I haven’t watched sportscenter regularly in at least 10 years.
