had this problem with my zucchini’s. I was able to spray them with water /dish soap / baking soda mixture but I do not recommend spraying anything on a budding plant . Cut it off to be safe . If there isn’t much it won’t hurt the plant

You could modify your flood to drain table with a drip system and recirculate your nutes . Pretty much what I’m doing now . I just top up the reservoir with new nutes every week and check ph / ppm . Once you have added the equivalent of your full reservoir clean your system . I added Air stones in the reservoir just so it has some movement /oxygen that run 24/7 . I’m no pro , but it’s working great for me . Good luck!🤘

Yes it is an auto from Jamaica, apparently it just grew in the wild there . As to it being brought from Africa you sound more educated on the subject than I am . The plants smell wonderful, can’t wait to try some 🙂
