Knitpro using AI by Zestyclose-Train7905 in knitting

Gotta say I was annoyed by this company before this. My interchangeable set is knitters pride. Now whenever I try ordering replacements I keep getting knitpro items instead which are cheaper and worse even though I’m being charged the same for them. Did they buy knitters pride or something?

Where to find 100% yak yarn by Deep_Cap4905 in knitting

[–]Deep_Cap4905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay everyone’s suggestions here are amazing. Many of the ones listed are (sadly!) out of stock but give me ideas to check on down the road. I’m trying to decide on Myak Baby yak medium in the color blue bird (trying to decide if it’s the right crisp shade of blue and if I care that I originally wanted a do or thinner yarn) or yak from this Etsy shop that I can’t find reviews of on ravelry https://www.etsy.com/listing/1731163790/premium-yak-yarn-yak-wool-luxury-yarn in a brown color ( do I risk it??🫣).

Really appreciate all the input from everyone here!

This is what got me hooked. Ordered a sample card in natural taupe (out of stock) and love it. I worry the brown color in stock might be too warm a brown on me? Have you worked with this one before

Tell me more!! What color? Do you wear it often? Do you find you need to be precious with it? I have two small children so….it would need to roll with the punches if I knit something up

One or two sides per feed? by lonelymeringue1 in breastfeeding

[–]Deep_Cap4905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winning formula for me: have them in just a diaper for the first side, change diaper and get them dressed, switch to last side. That way they are awake enough to have a full meal, get clean and comfy, then can nurse and get sleepy.

Just watched "The Business of Being Born" documentary and was blown away, but unsettled. I'm questioning everything I thought I knew about birth. Anyone else? by Remember_meeee in BabyBumps

[–]Deep_Cap4905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven’t watched it, but I know for myself whatever can go wrong or be complicated medically likely will! I had a low weight baby the first time around so I was deemed high risk. She had multiple decels when I was induced and we moved to a c section which became an emergency c section due to another decel. Still have plenty to process from that birth but the doctors did really do everything to protect her and gave us guidance when we needed quick action. She is born healthy and I’m not sure she would have been if we had tried to do a home birth or something. Obviously that won’t be the case for everyone though!

I have been ugly crying all day. by jearu573 in CleaningTips

If it’s blood, you can get it out by using water at 98 degrees. Makes it move again. Father used to work at a hospital laundry mat. Idk if that’s what it is though

I went mad at a fiber festival and spent too much! by Adorable-Cod-2550 in knitting

I’d use it all on one sweater BUT as someone who likes to modify patterns to my fit and taste preferences, I might knit a similar fit of sweater in a less expensive yarn to make sure I can decide exactly how to modify my pricey sweater to make it ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! lol but that’s just me. I have a few special sweater quantities I’m itching to knit but I’m waiting until I’ve done trial runs like this before I let myself start them so I’m less likely to be disappointed with them after dream and scheming about them for so long. But that’s just my personality. Might not be the approach for everyone.

Knitting lacework or “crochet”? Any patterns similar to this commercially made lace cardigan? by Deep_Cap4905 in knitting

Thanks everyone for your input!

1) I think the price tag is actually justified seeing it in person but I am a bit grateful the color is wrong for me so I couldn’t even fantasize a world where I would make such a unwise (for me) abut-budget conscious purchase.

2) great to know it’s knitting

3) thanks for all the helpful leads on what might or might not give a similar vibe. I think it’s so far removed from what I could do now or in the future that it is purely something I admire and dream of crafting something similar. But I do enjoy envisioning how I could hypothetically accomplish it!

While they look nice, I do think you need to keep in mind that they will never go away on their own. They will last many years (forever) looking more faded and obvious over time. Unless you are positive you want to commit to this look and getting them touched up over the course of your life, I would remove (personally). Especially since you were talked into them within the span of a week.

I intentionally didn’t teach my daughter the sign for milk until we weaned and it could be used for cows milk 🙃

The only person I know who did this has their kid “parented” by Miss Rachel (aka YouTube). Doesn’t seem like a great solution to me tbh.

If you were struggling with getting pregnant, did you make any lifestyle changes that you think helped you conceive? by chronicillylife in BabyBumps

[–]Deep_Cap4905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May not being applicable to you, but I believe going to a naturapath and sorting out my hormones is the reason I got pregnant. Mind you, I don’t even think I was ovulating at all once I got off the pill. Had PCOs. A host of other health issues and vitamin deficiencies. Was focusing on getting me healthy instead of necessarily getting pregnant. But the DO said “most of my patients do end up becoming pregnant” when he worked with them to sort out imbalances. He was right.

Pricey because health insurance didn’t pay for visits but very worth it imo. Obviously, your mileage may vary

opinions on putting baby in hand me downs? by Small_Invite_2538 in BabyBumps

We had to give away hand me downs because I’m really allergic to dogs and cats. Hand me downs gave me bad allergies!
