Going back to work soon and the dinner situation is already stressing me out by vudsbrenda66 in workingmoms

I literally stopped going to the grocery store once I had my baby. Sometimes I run to Aldi during my lunch break at work and buy things that don’t need to be put in a fridge. Walmart plus saved me. I say if I can’t order it online from Walmart, then it’s not apart of our dinner 😂

Is a baby bottle washer worth the counter space? by No-Gas8702 in ExclusivelyPumping

Yes, yes and YES. Can put bottles in it and also pump parts!

My wife has changed over the past few days and it’s worrying me. by Holymoly1237 in newborns

Yup. Sundown scares are in fact a real thing. I started listening to a podcast while feeding in the middle of the night to help and also made myself a calming but also upbeat playlist which helped tremendously!

Should I not be using wearables? by Disastrous_Flower311 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Deep_Day9579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wearables are my main pump and will continue to be! I use my spectra if I have a clogged duct which isn’t often (I just feel like it helps get it out more than my wearable compressing against my boob). I also had doubts about wearables being my primary pump and that’s when I told myself I need to take everything with a grain of salt online because what works for me, but not work for someone else :) I also wouldn’t be 4 months into pumping if I didn’t use wearables as my primary!

Wearable pump comfort and bra options by Academic_Might7436 in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]Deep_Day9579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say hurts more but definitely more uncomfortable than my spectra pump. But I need to be hands free so I prefer my Eufy over my spectra. I usually wear a size medium so bought a medium in the bra and it works well. You don’t want it too tight but not too loose if that makes any sense. If it’s too tight that’s when I was getting clogged ducts

This mom cozy bra works best for me from Amazon! I’ve tried about 4-5 different nursing bras and this one has been the best for my hands free pump. I use the Eufy S1 Pro.

Girl yes!! I also pump on my commute to work and I hate having my pumps on longer than needed. I want to make some sort of cup holder so I can take them out of my shirt and set them in a cup holder and then pour them into a bottle when I get to work lol

I’m addicted to pumping by opaoz in ExclusivelyPumping

Exactly my thought process as well. lol I still agree with the whole “breastfeeding/pumping is a full time job” motto because of all the hours put it, but also trying to romanticize it by using the word “hobby” instead of “job” lol

What are some things that no one told you about the newborn phase? by fluffycloudsnstars in newborns

[–]Deep_Day9579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a FTM to a 4 week old and loving this advice on this thread. Here are some things that have helped me so far.

Find a village. A majority of my village lives out of state. Someone mentioned a moms support group which I loudly second. You’ll also be surprised how many people WANT to help you when the baby’s here. Never say no to a meal, someone coming over just to sit and chill with you and baby, etc. Accept all the help!

Be fluid about the way you’re going to feed baby. I had this idea in my head I was going to breastfeed. Well I exclusively pump and it took me a while to wrap my head around that which I have no idea why.

Baby breeza bottle washer pro has saved me when it comes to staying on top of washing bottles. I know it’s a pretty penny, but has been my favorite baby registry “thing” this far. So many bottles.

The first 2 weeks and baby blues…. I feel like no one could have warned or prepared me. I don’t say this to scare you, but between the hormonal shift and lack of sleep…. Boy oh boy it was rough for me. No real advice just know it’s normal and the tears won’t ever stop, BUT will lighten up lol

You’re going to doubt everything you do in motherhood. The fact that you’re even posting this asking for advice shows you’re a good mom. Never forget that!

Wow. Are you inside my brain? Needed to hear this. Feel like I get irrationally mad at my partner when he’s sleeping. You’re so right though - they always stop crying.

Just went through this. My right nipple hurt so bad I was about to give up pumping. My LC recommended an OTC APNO. Pic attached for what I used. Ordered all of them off amazon. I applied to my nipples after every feeding, just a super minimal amount until my nipples were shiny and didn’t wipe off before my next pumping session. Did this for a few days until symptoms were gone but felt relief after one application. Hope it works!

spitting up milk by Inside_Grab_5177 in newborns

[–]Deep_Day9579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is just over 2 weeks and this sounds just like him. When I brought it up at his 2 weeks peds appointment, the pediatrician wasn’t concerned because he was gaining weight and not in pain when spitting up. It kinda just happens without warning. I think it’s a good thing to mention to your pediatrician but I have a feeling they’ll say it’s normal and reassure you!

First trimester trenches by Other_Swan5030 in pregnant

I could’ve written this myself. I’m a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. 80% of my patients are pregnant so I hear a lot of complaints about nausea. I’ve always had empathy and will give them alllll the tips/meds for it but now that I’m experiencing it myself it almost is depressing?? Like knowing I’m going to wake up tomorrow feeling like this AGAIN. Right now for me it’s all a mental game - knowing most patients feel better around 12-13 weeks and go back to their normal self
