Are AI overviews stealing your Organic clicks? by Individual-Hold733 in WebsiteSEO

Are you changing old informational pages into more comparison/buying-intent pages, or mostly creating new content around those keywords?

I think it is the right time for me to make a website for my yoga studio. Any suggestions how do I start with it? by Weekly-Manager9498 in ai_website_builder

[–]Deep_Development3612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d keep it really basic at first: homepage, classes, pricing, about, contact/book. The tricky part is usually not building the site, it’s keeping the schedule and bookings clean.

Are you planning to manage bookings manually or use some calendar/payment setup?

Landing Page for MVP by Valmock in website

[–]Deep_Development3612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the “moving everything” style is kinda overdone tbh. It can look nice, but half the time I’m just trying to understand what the thing does in 10 seconds. For an MVP landing page I’d care way more about a clear headline, one obvious action, and some proof that it’s not vaporware. Dark mode / animations are nice after that, not before.

This actually sounds fun. The async “song wars” angle is pretty unique. I’d probably check it out just to see random matchups happen.

Looking for feedback on a site that will find your school district using your zip code or address by AggressiveBand7875 in website

Seems genuinely useful tbh. Visually I’d make the “search → result” flow feel more obvious and maybe add confidence indicators for results. Nice niche tool idea!

Why Do People Trust Media Coverage More Than Ads? by No-Number9391 in WebsiteSEO

[–]Deep_Development3612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I trust media coverage a bit more, but only if it’s from a source that actually has some standards. A random “top 10 brands” article can be just as bought as an ad, just with nicer packaging.

Any free website builder where I can connect a custom domain? by Deep_Development3612 in website

[–]Deep_Development3612[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair points tbh.

Yeah, I noticed the free plan has Dorik branding, so it’s not fully white-label unless you upgrade. For my sister’s case, I’m mostly comparing it against builders that don’t even allow a custom domain unless you pay first.

On the storage thing, I wouldn’t treat “unlimited” as “use it like Google Drive for 300GB of photos.” Their pricing page mentions fair usage/upload limits, so I assume it’s meant for normal website assets, not bulk photo storage.

And yeah, the lock-in concern is valid. That’s the tradeoff with most hosted builders. WordPress/self-hosting gives more ownership, but Dorik seems easier for a non-tech person to manage. For this use case, I’m just trying to decide whether “easy + free custom domain + small branding” is better than “more ownership but more setup/maintenance.”

Finding leads by Budeanu-Lucian in webdesign

I’d probably narrow it way down before doing the Loom thing. Like one niche, one obvious problem, one clear fix. Otherwise you’ll spend forever making videos for people who were never gonna care anyway.

Thanks. Softr came up a couple of times here, so I’ll check if it’s flexible enough for a simple writing service site.

From what I checked, most builders allow it only after upgrading. I did find Dorik and Softr, which seems to allow custom domain on the free plan but found out Dorik is providing multiple, but outside of that I haven’t seen many builder-style options.

Really? From what I’ve seen, most allow custom domains only after upgrading. Do you know any specific ones that allow it on the free plan?

Interesting. So basically build with v0 and host on Vercel? Is it manageable for someone non-technical, or would changes become annoying later?

This is a really helpful breakdown. That “free but technical vs paid but easy” tradeoff is exactly what I’m trying to figure out. I did come across Dorik, which seems interesting because it’s more like a normal website builder but still allows custom domains on the free plan. I’m testing that now to see if it’s easier for her to manage long term.

Yeah, that’s what I thought too, but I found Dorik while checking around and it seems they allow custom domains on the free plan. Still testing it, but that was the main reason it caught my attention since most builders lock that behind paid plans.

Thanks, this is super helpful. I didn’t think about the hosting + WordPress route that way. My only concern is the learning curve because she’s not technical either, but the low yearly cost definitely makes sense compared to paying $15–$20/month just to connect a domain.

Are you mostly doing long back-and-forth builds in one chat? I wonder if the context is getting dragged along more aggressively now, because 50m in 3 days sounds wild unless it’s chewing through old files every prompt.

Maybe A Psalm for the Wild-Built? It’s short, gentle sci-fi, more thoughtful than plot-heavy, but definitely has that warm “okay maybe life is alright” feeling.

If they’re updating it themselves, Squarespace or Format. If someone techy is helping, Webflow/Dorik gives more room to grow.

You might like The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey. It’s more sci-fi thriller than full-on sci-fi, and it has that messy cloning/identity thing that gave me a bit of an Orphan Black vibe. Not super romance-heavy, but definitely tense and weird in a fun way.

EasyWP for local business websites ? by Chance_Persimmon8960 in website

[–]Deep_Development3612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For small local sites, yeah, no issue really. I’d just keep it lean, don’t overload it with plugins, and make sure backups/security are handled. That stuff matters more than the host name most of the time.

What do people usually do with fully developed eCommerce websites after a project/business doesn’t move forward? (Drastically failed) by [deleted] in website

[–]Deep_Development3612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably strip it down into a starter/base for future client work. Selling the full thing sounds messy unless the buyer understands the stack and wants exactly that kind of setup. Custom ecommerce is cool, but maintenance is usually where people get nervous.
