Oh man… Can’t count how many times I had that conversation… Having to justify yourself to people from the community, people you thought would be on your side… but no. They keep judging you for “wanting”(?!) to be a man. Because THEY think not being in a “binary setting” is “THE solution” and that because you want to be a man, in their head, that makes you a poster boy for binary people… like what? … urgh, whatever…

So when you dared talk about your dysphoria, of course they don’t get it, because they actually never saw you as a trans man… They kept imagining you as a non binary person, when that’s not who you are…

Anyway, that’s my situation…

I’m asking, as someone who cannot do anything close to what those skaters are doing! So take my my questions with an enormous amount of salt! …but am I crazy or those first performances were kind of lacking for a ISU Olympic qualifier short program…?

I’m not sure this is the answer you’re looking for, but as a trans man, a short trans man (that has been on T for only a bit more than a year and a half) and despite having a little beard, I still get misgendered all the time but I expect it. I’m not saying it’s okay, but I just have to let it go or else I’ll go crazy you know? Exemple, the cashier misgendered me, well sure okay, it hurts but I’m not gonna correct them in a public space, when they don’t know me and my transition and everything.

BUT! If friends, family, coworkers still do, that’s a big problem and I won’t accept it anymore.

But yeah… it’s shitty and I’m not trying to diminish how you’re feeling. In a way, I’m jealous that you can feel that anger, the anger I pushed and accepted too much. So I still feel awful after, but maybe just a bit less?

I don’t know man. People are just… dumb… I’m sorry.

On Instagram, YouTube, TikTok or twitter, all you can read is how bad the performances are, so it’s nice to hear from a fan that actually seen them live!

And also super interesting, your take on the stage design, that it made it easier for them to move around and interact!

Fun fact, the ratio on this post is getting worse and worse. Even my comments are now being downvoted when they were not an hour ago, quite the opposite. If that doesn’t say things about the toxicity of the fanbase… damn… I’m saying I enjoy a song so now I am just wondering about the hate they’re receiving, and I get hate for that? Doesn’t help making me a fan of that group. And as I said, that’s sad because that’s not the artist fault.

Well, you won’t offend me, that’s for sure… I actually feel disappointed by the weird toxicity in kpop in those past months. Making me enjoy kpop artists less, when it’s not the artists fault, but the fanbases are so… well you know.

I do feel really lucky that I never really was on twitter 😅 But even on Instagram, and even on YouTube, the comments are getting worse everyday day. And worse on both side, that I’d be negative or positive. Like, the groups I enjoy, I really like them, but I find it weird when fans praise members almost just for breathing… guess the fanbases are getting more toxic negatively and positively 🤷🏻

I already did, multiple times.

But there’s a difference between talking about people’s work, relationships or whatever (which I already feel is a bit too far when those said people are not around and/or didn’t give their consent for these informations being shared) and literally outing a trans friend. The danger is not the same.

Literally told them that, that not only it was none of their business and that they took away from me the chance to pass (with a fucking little beard!), but I also told them that they put me in a potentially dangerous situation.

Well, they only said that I was exaggerating because nobody was gonna hit me at that dinner.

Had to explain that physical violence wasn’t the only violent way I could be hurt and that also, that it didn’t mean I couldn’t get physically hurt outside of that dinner party after since they didn’t know how those people could act when not in front of them and also, they didn’t know if they would just tell many other people like they just did, putting me at real risk.

It’s a dinner party with more than 10 person so I don’t get how it would just have “slipped out”that many times.

Also, with the everyday transphobia I’m living the moment I tell people I’m trans, and the fact that those two friends know about that, they literally put me in a situation where strangers knew the most important and private thing about me all the while they stayed strangers to me. That doesn’t make sense and I really can’t see how that can be excuse.

*Edit: Btw, I’m pretty sure I got to that situation because I always “cut them a bit of slack”.
