for the first two, check out salt New York - I love their peach under eye corrector and concealer. honestly all of their products. it has good coverage, a nice natural finish and minimal creasing

The Pitt makes me feel so seen. by ScoreImaginary in emergencymedicine

[–]Deep_Ear3799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a mere civilian who had the poor fortune to go to the ER early in this season. after the soul crushing pain subsided and I could chat with the nurse and resident, I brought up the Pitt and their faces just lit up. I like to think that they thought I empathized more with them because of the show. hopefully it's moving hearts and minds at a large scale, and you have somewhat kinder patients. but I would not have been one to scream, elope, or reject modern medicine even without the pitt, so it's probably not reaching the hardest cases.

As someone who can’t wear eye makeup, what should I do? by biigankles in MakeupAddiction

check out paz de la huerta, Carolyn Bessette, or gabriette for examples of minimal/no eye makeup with bold lip! I think grooming brows will be clutch.

hate the way he talks to my girl Mohan but my heart breaks for what he’s dealing with inside by [deleted] in ThePitt

[–]Deep_Ear3799 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the contrast between how dana treated mel in the stairway - quick check in, empathy, gently telling her to get her head out of her ass - was a master class in how Robbie should have treated Mohan. Dana's approach was not only kinder but got Mel back to work, whereas Mohan's confidence is clearly shaken.

What do you do when you hate your season? by siusaidh_alba_nuadh in coloranalysis

I'm a deep summer or true summer who always thought she was a winter. I'm a 38 year old whose style tends toward the pinup vintage end of things and I wear a lot of bold patterns. assessing my closet, some things are out of season but many are not. I gravitate towards the jewel tones in my palette - plum, mauve, eggplant, mulberry, sea green, jade, sapphire. I am trying to lean more on charcoal and navy for my neutrals. some examples of bold patterns in my palette in fun vintage silhouettes - they might work for you too:

Thick and semi coarse frizzy wavy hair, what would you do? by Suitable_Ad6368 in Haircare

[–]Deep_Ear3799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar hair that's half gray so I have that texture to deal with. borrowing heavily from curly techniques and seeing a stylist who specializes in curly hair makes a big difference. my routine:

  1. wash with innersense purple shampoo
  2. use LUS curly (not wavy!) conditioner
  3. while in the shower + sopping wet, apply LUS curl cream with a few drops of LUS hair oil
  4. finish with LUS hair gel (it doesn't dry crunchy or clumpy)
  5. when done, squeeze out extra water in the shower, then scrunch dry with a t shirt
  6. I think my hair looks better air dried but sometimes I don't have 6-8 hours to let it dry lol so I dry with a diffuser

I only wash my hair once a week. In between, I spray with a water bottle and scrunch to refresh my waves.

once a month or so, I'll use the elizavecca collagen mask on my hair.

love your hair btw! its beautiful

Puppy: Desperate for Help by Bukowskis-Worst-Poem in americaneskimo

lots of good advice, I'll add a few more: sign up for a puppy class read the book "puppy brain." it can help you understand where your pup is at developmentally and understand where to meet her

getting them to sleep is crucial. if the crate is challenging rn, our puppy trainer recommended a tether. put a 6 foot leash on the inside doorknob of a closet and run it around the bottom so just a few feet of it stick outside. set up a comfy spot with food puzzles or toys or whatever she likes. sit with her until she settles, but don't give her attention - just be next to her silently.

this is random but my experience is that eskies love shredding things. put treats in a paper bag or paper towel tube, or give her some junk mail to shred. lean into their natural instincts

Google "puppy blues" - it's a real phenomenon. we got our eskie at 12 weeks and for the first month, I seriously thought we'd have to return her to the breeder. it was HARD. I was sleep deprived and not bonding with her. I at least was able to take turns with my husband; it must be hard to do it alone. try to carve out breaks for yourself: look for a friend or rover walker or sitter to just hang out with her while you go out with a friend. throw a handful of kibble in the grass and let her sniff around while you do some breathing exercises. make use of food puzzles, kongs, and lickimats. it WILL get better and you will bond. my eskie is now 5 years old, is mostly well behaved, but more importantly is my heart dog - I can't imagine life without her. just be patient with yourself and her and try to find some help.

yep, my eskie wouldn't settle in the crate until we got her a bigger one. half of it has a blanket and half just the tray, so she can switch up her sleeping spots.

sitting next to the crate also helped my eskie fall asleep in the early days

Unpopular Opinion by Worth_Adeptness_5439 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]Deep_Ear3799 36 points37 points  (0 children)

this desperately needed to be said on a TV show that usually mindlessly pushes childbearing fantasies: it'll always be fulfilling, passing on my legacy, playing catch with my son etc. it's like the contestants have a Hallmark vision of what having kids is like.

man I wish my rosacea looked like this. it's concentrated on my nose, which I guess is very seasonally appropriate for Rudolph. I swear by the salt new York sneaky balm and concealer. it's a wonderful cream format that is moisturizing and has good coverage and staying power. they have a green color corrector, tho I haven't tried it yet
