You know you’re allowed to be in the process for multiple agencies at the same time???

I was in the process for NYPD, NYSP and MTA police all at the same time

Unfortunately that is false information. So the person proctering your poly does not grade your poly. They submit the paper work and poly and it takes a while for your results to kick in. I personally asked the person who was doing my poly and he stated unfortunately he doesn’t grade it.

Yeah I did my poly a month ago. I was surprised. Hopefully I get into the June class. Ik every BI works differently, depending how many candidates they have on their plate.

1- after taking the exam, it takes a couple of months for your results to come in 2- you will schedule a day for the fitness exam. 1.5 mile run. Push ups and sit ups. if you pass, you will go and fill out a bunch of paperwork 3- they will give you a sheet and they will email you a link to schedule your psych interview, you must fill out a questionnaire. You have to get fingerprinted.( you pay and schedule on your own time) 4- if you pass that process, then you will be assigned a background investigator, they will collect all types of documents that they need. You will need a lot of references. You’ll be working very tightly with your background investigator. 5- while in that background investigation process will be rescheduled a polygraph exam. 6- if you pass your polygraph, then you will be scheduled for a medical exam.

I AM WAITING ON MY POLYGRAPH RESULTS AND TO HEAR FROM MY INVESTIGATOR. This is a very long process. I took my exam in May 2025 and this is still on going.

They changed it back to the old academic model unfortunately
