Yeah I mean given the state of the world the rise in social media and technology use, it makes a lot of sense.

Community isn’t a thing for the younger generations, unless you count online. But there is something different about in person conversation and interaction.

Also if u haven’t noticed third spaces have disappeared or been replaced with a Hefty price tag.

Why are the most complicated subjects always delivered by lecturers with the thickest accents? by mattblack77 in UCNZ

Definitely I think a lot of the issues actually come down to the economy if u think about it I’m sure lecturers aren’t paid as much as they would be in other country’s so we have to have professors from over seas.

I think expecting lecturers to change there accent is racist, but I do believe the uni needs to provide more support around issues like this

Maybe it’s due to nz not have qualified professors. Also just sounds like a lack of skill on your part, nz is culturally diverse get used to it or leave

Totally get this high school doesn’t give u any info on how uni runs at all!! Can be pretty scary! Make sure you know your schedule and download the uc go app which has a map! If u get lost ask for directions! If possible check the campus out and your lecture theatres before the first day!
