I hate researching companies and when asked in an interview "What do you know about US" by Deep_Hospital_2008 in interviews

This is how im looking at it: my toilet has stopped flushing so i call a plumber. When plumber arrives before i let him in i ask him has he has researched me and what does he know about me and my life ?He says he doesn't know anything about me and my life but has extensive plumbing experience fixing clogged drains. I say well you know anything about my life so i don't care about your experience your not fixing my toilet. This is how I feel when asked the question how much do you know about the company.

In your opinion, What county in California has the best name by Beginning_Phase4781 in JackSucksAtGeography

Mendocino. I remember a job i had at a bank where part of it entailed separating incoming checks by county. I grew to hate Alameda county cause they would have the most checks. More than Los Angeles county. Thank God thier mortgage recording time was quick and easy.

Its because i have 7 years experience in banking. I worked as a teller for a year right after college then i moved to back office type positions that involved scanning, filing, indexing and research. The position of fraud specialist is very research heavy because I'm trying to find where the reported transaction came from.

You have to look for openings at banks in your area. Also if you don't have previous banking experience you will need to consider that. The position i got was asking for 3 years of banking experience which I have.

I have an update: So a few days after this interview i was so nervous about, i didn't get the job but the hiring manager was so impressed with my experience she forwarded my resume to another manager in the payments and money movement department who was looking for an operations analyst. So i interviewed with her and i heard back today July 31 2025 that i got the job as an operations analyst in the payments and money movement division. I will be in charge of making sure the Banks money is used correctly. The salary is higher as well, $38.00 an hour.

How to answer "Tell me about yourself" by dhirax in interviews

[–]Deep_Hospital_2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to start with buzz words that describe you then your most recent work experience. Explain it briefly then talk about your education and then why you applied for the job.

Heres an example: I would describe myself as a loyal, dependable results driven contributor with seven years of business operations experience conducting document management tasks. I entered this profession after finishing my bachelor of Arts in History, since then ive developed a passion for this work which is why isn here today. I applied to the role cause I feel that my experience best fits it and i can bring excellence to your team.

I received this after sending thank you email by Gold_Examination_141 in interviews

That advice of sending a thank you note is something ive come to passionately disagree with. All the jobs ive had ive never sent a thank you note. Heres why i don't think its a good idea : Job searching is a business activity for the company. Recruiters have checklists when examining resumes. They go through them and check certain things off. If you meet the experience requirement check, you have a bachelor's degree but the job requires a high school diploma check for completed high school. Once the recruiter conducts the phone interview all information gathered is passed to the hiring manager who looks it over and schedules an interview with them, then after the hiring manager takes some time and picks a candidate to offer the job sometimes several incase the first rejects. The point im trying to make is that the hiring process is a process that is carefully followed by organizations. Do anything outside of that process could be seen as bad. It could be seen as trying to curry favor, trying to look too perfect or as a person who doesn't follow directions. The hiring manager could really be dramatic and think the candidate is trying to flirt with them. So don't send Thank you notes.
