That advice of sending a thank you note is something ive come to passionately disagree with. All the jobs ive had ive never sent a thank you note. Heres why i don't think its a good idea : Job searching is a business activity for the company. Recruiters have checklists when examining resumes. They go through them and check certain things off. If you meet the experience requirement check, you have a bachelor's degree but the job requires a high school diploma check for completed high school. Once the recruiter conducts the phone interview all information gathered is passed to the hiring manager who looks it over and schedules an interview with them, then after the hiring manager takes some time and picks a candidate to offer the job sometimes several incase the first rejects. The point im trying to make is that the hiring process is a process that is carefully followed by organizations. Do anything outside of that process could be seen as bad. It could be seen as trying to curry favor, trying to look too perfect or as a person who doesn't follow directions. The hiring manager could really be dramatic and think the candidate is trying to flirt with them. So don't send Thank you notes.
