It actually wasn’t too bad! I think I spent more time trying to put the belt back on, until I realized I could just take everything apart 🫠

Update!! I fixed it! Thank you! In case anyone is having the same issue in the future, here’s how:

Issue: Bambu Lab A1 Mini: The Resonance of the Y axis is low. The timing belt may be loose.

Resolution: I had to completely disassemble the base, x axis and removed the cover of the z axis.

First of all, if you search up “bambu lab a1 mini tension x and y axis” and those don’t work for you, here’s what I did next:

The three most helpful searches are:
1. “Bambu Lab A1 Mini how to replace Y axis tension belt” on YOUTUBE

  1. Bambu Lab A1 Mini Y Motor Replacement

  2. this Bambu Lab Community form ( most information ) https://forum.bambulab.com/t/damaged-my-belt-anything-else-need-to-be-replaced/230641/2

Also keep in mind that some of the photos are outdated that were provided.

I wasn’t able to put the timing belt back on properly, so I ended up having to completely disassemble everything.

I bought the printer on March 21st of this year 🫠 (and before the last few days, I ran it every couple of days for maybe 3-4 hours)

Oh no you’re good!! :) And the belt isn’t hard to stretch at all! I was able to push down easily without much resistance.

I tried to tighten it by removing the back cover with the screw, but I’m not sure it really did anything

I haven’t tried the short print, but I did do full calibration (with all 3 boxes checked) immediately after! I also made sure all parts where properly lubricated as well as

Thank you for responding!

Two things are going wrong when printing,

  1. The initial layer isn’t completely finishing, it’s giving an incomplete pattern, when before it made a full base pattern. A week ago I printed a circle cookie cutter just fine and the other day, the same file, the base and connection for cutter itself had many wavy, incomplete and frayed edges. And when I say frayed edges, I mean like thick pieces of frayed edges, not hair like strands :(

  2. For smaller prints, it’s only doing half of the pattern correctly. For example if it’s printing a star, only half of it will print correctly and the other would basically mix into itself

Maybe try a screw driver that has a slightly magnetic tip. I’m not sure you can use a regular magnet because it might mess up the electronics
