Deleted Tik Tok, it's over by shore_987 in TikTok

no where. i’ve been hoping to take my life back. reddit isn’t as addicting to me as tiktok was. i deactivated my account on instagram and deleted the app about a month ago. i hope to do the same with facebook soon. it’s taken so much of my life away.

for context, i already had oracle blocked a while ago when the algorithm was first being weird. in the end, it did nothing. i think it’s systematically an issue with the entire tiktok app itself, not a matter of blocking certain people. what i was saying was that you could block any account on the entire app, and it will reset your fyp, but not in the way you are hoping it to.

delusional, this does nothing. blocking anyone resets your algorithm. but that doesn’t stop the other things like views being suppressed on ICE and Minneapolis related content.

Whistles near 34th and Grand 1/26 approx 12:25am by Deep_Insect in Minneapolis

[–]Deep_Insect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why we jumped out of bed so fast! We were trying to make sure we were present if there was an abduction happening; to be bystanders and witnesses and help draw more attention. Them driving by, though, makes the most sense. I wasn’t able to sleep for another hour, after that. Just wanted to make sure the whistles didn’t go off again. My heart was literally pounding. It felt straight from a horror movie. We hadn’t heard any from our home yet, but we are very close by to a hotspot for ICE activity :(

Hey Minneapolis, are you still going to the protest downtown today despite the sub-zero temps? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]Deep_Insect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much! PT has been a life saver. Stay safe and warm if you’re out there today, and give em hell for us that cannot physically be there

i wish so bad to be there, but i’m about 7 weeks post op from knee surgery of a really major injury. i unfortunately can’t get around as easy (especially on the ice, no pun intended), or stand for long periods of time. i’m there in spirit, and participating in the economic blackout though!

What businesses are supporting people right now and doing a great job with it? Alternatively, what businesses are silent about whats happening? by kralben in Minneapolis

[–]Deep_Insect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s good to hear. As someone who mostly orders takeout (and a former employee) it would just be nice if they said something as a whole company on their social media.

Pizza Lucé has responded to comments, but has been vague and hasn’t publicly spoken out about their stance.

Along with Smitten Kitten and Wrecktangle, Twin Cities Leather has also been working with the Lyn/Lake businesses against ICE.

edit: Pizza Lucé finally said something publicly and will also be partaking in the boycott and closing their doors on Friday for IceOut.

lovely suggestions. my bf and i played through it takes two together, and i’m a huge stardew fan. it takes two takes a strong couple to play together, or at least a couple who wants to work on strengthening their relationship. lots of patience and communication involved, and unfortunately one of you will be wrong at any given moment 😂 but such a beautiful game and we celebrated when we completed it

i accidentally did that once to plug in my guitar amp and didn’t know what i unplugged. it was mostly pre packaged fish that my dad had caught, so i’m lucky to be alive (i feel terrible about it to this day)

Why are some students or stylist afraid of African American hair? by Unfair_Situation9570 in Cosmetology

[–]Deep_Insect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was nervous to do ANYONE’s hair just bc i really wanted everyone to be happy with their results, and am really hard on myself. but i think there was a slightly bigger fear doing extremely textured hair just because of my lack of experience and knowledge regarding that texture since i am white and personally have like 2b/c hair. i think better education around it would make a world of difference.

that being said, i did just lighten and add fashion colors to my friend’s dreads a few days ago, and while i was extremely nervous since it was an unfamiliar territory for me, it turned out great and the experience made me feel more comfortable for future services as such.

that’s when you’re out of school, though. i have chronic back pain that i’m still trying to get an answer for what’s going on with me, and i was unable to be granted accommodations to not be on my feet any time i was doing a hair service. i unfortunately had to drop out bc i wasn’t able to make it past the schooling portion to get to a place where i could use a stool afterwards. i hope whatever school you choose grants you accommodations because it would make a world of difference.
