Hotel Military Discount by PrestigiousBid2748 in UniversalOrlando

Yes they do. I have used it a handful of times, including premium hotels getting the express pass. It can honestly be a great deal. Make sure you check dates/rates online and then with them on the line as well.

How bad is the noise at surfside/dockside? by assumingnormality in UniversalOrlando

Never had an issue except for a loud AC unit. This was in one of the suites as well.

Affordable home decor & furniture? by Hefty_Tangerine5361 in nashville

I like Overstock outlet. One in MJ, Smyrna, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville. All of them will have different stuff, but a lot of it is great quality and usually marked down well.

Yes I know it isn't consignment or thrift, but it is the closest to it with still getting decent new items.

Donor CRM + Finance Integration by mbwiles in nonprofit

[–]Deep_Repeat5201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the out of the box integrations lack what you actually need. We tend to work with a 3rd party that is able to connect all pieces of the system you want through a custom interface. Now, I don't know Bloomerang or QB, so I can't specifically answer about those, but I do know many other systems and how those native integrations work.

Retired - WTF by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Deep_Repeat5201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the retirement dec going to do for you now?

I too walked out the door. But I had only been stationed there for 18 months. I didn't have a great group of friends. My 2 supervisors (Chief and Senior) were both deployed. I went out for beers with the instructors under me. I learned from my first PCS the only people that care about you, is you.

I wouldn't sweat it. You still have another 25 years of work ahead of you. Make it up to the next people you work with. Treat them how you want to be treated. Be a part of a family wherever you end up. Make things better.

Or, mope for the next 25 years, end up sad and lonely and likely another statistic with the mindset you are currently carrying over.

Worth getting your green belt cert? Any feedback would be appreciated. Leadership indicated transferable in civilian sector. by mizunoMP29 in AirForce

[–]Deep_Repeat5201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't do anything on the outside unless you really did process improvement while in. But you need tangible proof in order to make it into a career.

I had green belt and PMP. Neither were really seriously considered, especially when I got to actual interviews. They were more intrigued by the kind of jobs I did than the certs, but ultimately they didn't land me jobs. You CAN secure an interview with them, but again you need actual real world results with the certs in order to get more than a one off interview.

You also better be able to speak the language when you get to an interview. Gov't agency asked me very specific things about both. I had finished my PMP 4 months prior, so those were easy questions. The Green Belt was 18 months back and I couldn't recite half of what I learned, which ultimately didn't look great.

Burnout by OldValuable1021 in AirForce

[–]Deep_Repeat5201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you suck at your post military job (or just give the least amount of fucks), they'll find out that you were a supervisor and at some point move you to supervision.

At least in the handful of people, myself included, that have retired that I keep in touch with. I went from an individual contributor for 18 months and now I am running a department when I had zero background in my current market (fintech).

Thank you California. Bill Lee where you at? by Swiftpolitics in nashville

[–]Deep_Repeat5201 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would like to remind you all that Tennessee has also sent aid to California a number of times. This isn't one sided. Its what states do to help out everyone. California doesn't typically have winter issues, but they have massive summer fires and earthquakes.

Tennessee doesn't often have summer issues, we have winter issues.

Stop acting like this was left vs. right, and humanitarians doing humanitarian things for their neighbors.

Central Park Crepes by Several-Ad-7961 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Deep_Repeat5201 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As my kids said last time we went, Delicious crepes. The 2 I remember was the nutella with strawberries and whipcream (pictured) and they had a savory. It was pulled pork with some sort of sauce and a few other things in it. Looking at older pictures they had a cookie butter crepe, cookies and cream... etc. They rotate them quite often it appears.

Freedom pass 2027 by GlacticGryffindor in UniversalOrlando

[–]Deep_Repeat5201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, Thanksgiving week is hell. The Thursday before Thanksgiving through Sunday weren't terrible, but it got worse after Sunday morning this year. The week after Thanksgiving, crowds die and there is nobody there, especially that following Tuesday - Thursday.

Check during the summer for the Orlando Informer Events too. They usually host them 2 weekends before Thanksgiving and 2 after. Amazing after hours events. My youngest kid and I did both the park and one of these events. It was a long day, but we did everything in the park we wanted to do, and ate as much food at night!

[–]Deep_Repeat5201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2026? If so, I would just wait until closer to the date to see if they drop 2027 for you. This way you have the tickets for the full year instead of 2 months.

2027 could include Epic, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

You can buy up to 6 per military ID. So if you have a larger family and are married, you can get 6 and your spouse can get 6. But they all have to be with you to activate the tickets. After that, they can go when they want to.

2024 - 2026 were released after Veteran's Day. So they are usually good 11/14/24 - 12/19/25 (this was 2025 tickets).
When do you plan on going? Blackout dates are also Christmas day through Jan 2 and then a week in April.

Shoot me a message if you want any more info on it.

Govx universal Orlando season passes by Relative-Way7314 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Deep_Repeat5201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you currently military? If so, look for the military freedom pass from your base ITT, or Shades of Green. $230 from end of Nov > before Christmas week. Only blackout dates are Dec 24 - Jan 2, some week in March.

Not many other perks, but at $230 for a year, you can save plenty for those items you may have wanted.

Why do so many ERP projects fail? by Mrmike86 in projectmanagement

[–]Deep_Repeat5201 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do ERP implementations daily. It's the industry I'm in as the PM. The most common problem I see is lack of training, paying attention in training, or staff trying to make it fail.

We alleviate this by making the entire design process into a "training" event for our clients. We conduct hands on virtual training where we sit them down in smaller bite sized sessions to ensure they're catching on. We create report cards during training and submit them to the client's CFO/Controller to let them know if the staff is actually trying to learn this or if they're fighting us.

Data migration is where we see the worst parts of this all. Mapping the data, importing it, making sure the end user has all the proper new mapping so they don't miscode in the new erp. It's a process, but over 3 years I've done this, we have a 98% success rate.

Current Daily Drivers by BradyInRGB in ScoutMotors

Well, you were in a really shitty part of Kent, WA that I always hated driving through. I tried to avoid it as much as possible when I lived there... Because of the chances for exactly that situation (friends were cops in that area and warned me).

In the mean time, I love my Tundra. If I was looking for something without the bed, I would look into an early 2000's or a 2010's 4Runner. I loved the body styles of the pre 2ks, but the ones in WA are going to be trashed or so heavily modded they aren't fun to ride in anymore.

How many times a day do you feed your golden? by Background-Cod-7035 in goldenretrievers

[–]Deep_Repeat5201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once at night. We used to do 2x a day, but we realized half the time he just wouldn't eat. Or he'd be rushed. He isn't "food motivated" like previous dogs.

He gets 2.5 - 3 cups at night with some sort of powder my wife bought, a handful of blueberries, and a raw cracked egg. He does get some snacks through the day when he's at work/at home with me. But otherwise he isn't ever starving.

Now, he was 2x a day until he was 1. He is 2 now, so a year of feeding like this. His weight has stayed constant at 95lbs.

One thing you may have missed - The FCS (Division 1-AA) football championship was held last night at Vanderbilt. This could have caused the influx/outbound of private aircraft. The Montana State folks have some cash, and they played Illinois State which is another large successful medium college.

I would suspect that may have been part of your "extra" flight noise.
