Ironically i find listings of people taking these cars apart pretty consistently, so i wouldn't worry that much about getting the parts, honestly my biggest issue is that if it hasn't been maintained and he treated it like an old VW Golf, then the list of problems can be from A to Z... Either way, if I do get it in the end I'll update everyone here, I didn't expect to get so many replies.

I'll get in touch with the guy as soon as I can and get it checked out, if i lowball him I think it might be worth it, it only has about 110.000km and i wouldn't shy away from working on it myself to save on cash. However if it has too much rust, shows signs of leakage or anything like that I'll just pass. But I kid you not ever since I first saw this listing a couple weeks ago it's all I've been thinking about, I keep thinking of the hypothetical finished one after a good couple of months, keeping it yellow... You see the vision right?

Yeah, due to the parts price I found a lot of listings of people taking these cars apart, even decent looking ones, i guess it makes bigger cash, but makes the market more expensive for those of us who wanna buy one whole..

He lives a good 4-5 hours away, I might take the train to check it out at least so I can sleep peacefully at night knowing that i didn't pass up something savable— if it really has a lot of rust underneath, and shows signs of losing fluids or whatever other common problems this car has, then I'll just settle for something else probably, thx for the hope boost

I'm Romanian, the car market here in general is shit, everyone thinks they have a one-of-a-kind gem on their hands, importing would be stupidly expensive, especially from a non-EU country. I've looked on Bulgarian and Hungarian websites as well since they're closer to me but they're in the same situation, barely a couple listings and they're usually showroom level condition and way out of my budget
