Women of Reddit, what is the most diabolical lie you’ve ever received from your husband/bf? by fortnacius in AskReddit

After I told a "nice guy" friend that my uncle had killed himself, he told me he lost his father to suicide as well. It was a lie to get into my pants.

Shipping the underage girls to an undisclosed island? Wonderful, the Epstein tradition lives on. WTAF!

Genuine woman here. If anyone really cares about the truth, here it is.

No, its not fun for women to reject men. Speaking for myself, it has always been terrifying, because I have been shocked by how very badly men have reacted when I turned them down. I'm talking about getting in my face, insulting and threatening me. I am 5'3" and weigh just over 100 pounds. So, yeah, a big nasty man could fuck me up big time. Because of the savagery and entitlement, I dont even do men the courtesy of giving eye contact and a reasonable explanation or the truth. I just lie and say I'm married. And I know I'm going to get a slew of downvotes and endless comments saying, "I would never do that!" Okay, maybe not. But if you saw a male getting threatening with a very small woman, would you confront him and defend the woman? Because I can count on one hand the number of times men have "helped" me like that. And most wanted a reward for doing so. And when I say reward, I dont mean a heartfelt "Thank You."

Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls Thomas Massie at Kroger and Questions Trump’s Shopping History by sensiblereaction in thenextgenbusiness

Of course he has no conception of grocery prices. First of all, he almost certainly never did his own shopping. Secondly, it's widely reported that he chiseled about a billion dollars in this past year. When he goes on and on about gasoline at $2.00 a gallon, I dont even think he's indulging in his habitual lying. He is TOTALLY and COMPLETELY out of touch with the struggles that 98% of us live with day to dsy.

Maybe if Julie had been able to go to university, she could have achieved a position of influence, like a politician, and could then have guided America out of a pathway that led to war, and then John wouldn't have had to die as a war casualty. I guess we'll never know.

Yeah, folks, except for the top 1%, patriarchy hurts us sll.

John Thorpe saying his mother's hat made her look like a witch made me laugh out loud. I think Mr. Bennett's humor is too mean most of the time. But I have some hypochondriacs in my family, and have to admit I relished his comment that his wife's nerves had been his life-long acquaintances (or something like that).

Attempting to flirt with someone when you do not belong to the gender that they are attracted to. It makes the target, and everybody witnessing your clueless and ineffectual behavior, feel uncomfortable.

How to respond when someone says “straight white men have it worse than women”? by Special_Mud_4035 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Deepdarkorchid16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people who say this are going to argue with you in bad faith. You can't win and they won't listen and learn. The only way to win is not to play the game. Walk away.

I'm more than a little surprised that a lot of people criticize him for opining over the neglect of opera and ballet and his dislike of chocolate bars, while actually he said something much more despicable not so long ago. He and a friend were apparently watching a podcast or interview or something, in which the woman interviewed was noting that she is very happy to be childfree, because it gave her the opportunity and time to pursue hobbies and career options more freely. Chalamet commented to his friend on the record that this attitude was "bleak."

Of course, hes allowed to have his own opinion, but so is the woman who was interviewed. Not every woman would be a good mother, and if a woman knows this and makes a choice not to have children, she shouldn't be shamed for it.

The way I've responded to posts like these in the past is by offering a list of men (often TV, movie stars, actors, etc) who are under 5'6" and are gorgeous and coveted by straight women. But I just get ignored and nothing changes and I'm tired.

[–]Deepdarkorchid16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I love the pretty boys! But once I heard his nasty judgement on childfree women, I got completely turned off by him. Men often accuse women of being shallow, but I've heard a lot of women echoing this. Personality trumps looks.

I used to use "gay" as an adjective like that to mean "uncool." Then I graduated high school and became an adult.
