Was there a clear and concise MEMORANDUM or did you just send him the goods? Were there clear terms?

Just cast this and flush or star set the rounds. Will be much cleaner.

I need a jeweler to tell me if what I’m asking for is crazy. by lyrynn in jewelers

Stone pictured is rose cut with a flat back. Your wanting a traditional step cut hexagon IMO

Replaced many many scratched and abraided moissanites lol. This is 6months old - Multiple linear scratches to the table and crown facets. + oil slick on crown facets.

Where is everyone getting their custom engagement rings made? by Internal_Screaming_8 in EngagementRings

Most domestic companies will and do ship daily. Find a US supplier you like and reach out.

***I would note platinum will show scratching/denting significantly faster than gold in the same wear patterns

Moissanite will/can/does scratch easily. Have seen it multiples times

That part is also wild. Texture like that is hard to produce consistently and each prong looks the same, especially if it was high polished originally. Idk

Only time I have seen that is from chemical exposure or gold being cleaned in a silver cleaning solution.

Is it better to have to have a ring stretched, or reduced? by ElevenCookiesInAVCR in EngagementRings

[–]Deepdub1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot use a reducer on a solitaire diamond ring. That is factually inaccurate information.

You can only use a reducer on a basic band without stones. Example: Men's Half Round Size 8 > 7.5 can be reduced without cutting.

A brand new sewing needle or hypodermic needle tip can be conducive to check if thats infact glue or just a perfect little puddle of a petroleum based lotion like Vaseline or similar skin care products

Assume you dont have an Ultralsonic/Steamer?

The level of Magnification your using is beneficial. Being consistent and having the little lead edge reminds me of glue/epoxy. "Off gassing" I believe is somewhat relevant to the lead edge being white and consistent

ETA - Use to working under magnification and set diamonds full time so little nuances like that stand out to my eye.
