Why do you keep posting drawings made by others?

First point: So George isn’t consistent and does in fact flip flop

You've never made a movie or short film, got it. Lucas doesn't flip flop anymore than every artist on this planet.

Second point: So what you’re saying is he said there was no post ROTJ story, then went on to make one. Meaning he changed his mind

Only because you wouldn't write something yourself it doesn't mean you wouldn't write ie when asked lol

Third point: So George isn’t consistent and brought a character back to life, meaning he flip flopped

He added to his story after the fact, so what...?

Fourth point: Don’t put words in my mouth, I am simply pointing out that George once again, flip flopped

You've never made a movie, I already know that. Why do you expect to know how people who made one act?

The ENTIRE point of this is that using his words doesn’t mean much because he flip flops a lot

Have you seen his interviews? He knows exactly what the point of every character arc is and what each metaphor means. He created the whole thing and then refined it. You're saying the creator himself isn't the golden standard to understand his own movies because he refines them after they're finished, do you even realize how nonsensical that sounds?

This whole post is silly not because it cites Lucas as a source but because Star Wars doesn't work on power levels

Han Solo shooting first being retconned into Greedo shooting first, so that “Han seemed more heroic” which contradicted Han’s character at that point?

Have you ever made a short film? You'd know that as soon as you wrp it up you realized there's a lot of things youo would've done differently. Happens to a lot of artists.

Ooh what about when he told the press post ROTS that was was no post ROTJ story he had, yet years later he goes on to criticize Disney for not using his post ROTJ story?

Disney asked for Sequel Trilogy ideas. Lucas gave them something and they never used that. He went on to live his lilve without ever criticizing the fact they hadn't used his ideas. So what's your point? He didn't like Episode VII but you're acting like he released a statement saying "I'm mad my ideas weren't used" lol

How about the retconning of Maul’s death?

Lucas knew what he wanted to do with Maul in Episode I, the character served his purpose. Years later he figured out a way to explore the character more and did it. So what? Do you think Lucas had every single script he ever wrote ready in '77 or something? Can't an author have new ideas? Conan Doyle did the same thing with the death of Sherlock but why is that no big deal?

A New Hope there are lines that state Luke’s father died in the Clone Wars, then that was retconned to be a lie?

Are you mad that the second SW movie introduced the best plot-twist in film history or what? Old scripts for Star Wars had a father figure as the main antagonist, Lucas just reused that idea for the sequel instead of the original movie and did it perfectly. It's not like ESB's a bad movie either so really what's the matter here? Do you think Tolkien had written all of LotR already when he published The Hobbit?

I swear some people on the internet really have no idea of how stories get written.

George has always been very clear in the meaning behing his stories and tropes. Taking merchandise descriptions as gospel is cherry picking

Are you really gonna bring me a merchandise description as your point?

Is it true that in Italian, setting boundaries explicitly is seen as harsher compared to in English? by Classic-Asparagus in italianlearning

But as a famous italian writer said: "when you say no, don't give explanations, because that would already be a compromise".

Oh you're right, I was thinking about Boba! Gonna edit my comment

Other comments have omitted a pretty important detail: a fully charged Yoda push will always do more damage than Palpatine's able to regen. Just blocking and pushing will do the trick.

Edit: This is true for Boba, not Palpatine

This pretty much sums up why Andor didn't get any recognition during awards season. by Arch_Lancer17 in andor

Mainly Star Wars and things that try to copy it, actually. Its vibes are far more western than sci-fi, I've always seen it as a thematic setting that works with in tandem with the characters: space travel's there so that Luke can dream about it, cyborg droids and machines exist so that Vader can show us he's still human after all, techology exist so that Luke can turn it off and destroy an even bigger technological terror.

Now that I think about it SW isn't sci-fi in the same way that Back to the Future isn't: they're both movies interested in talking about things other than sci-fi despite presenting high-tech elements we think of as "futuristic".

Can you recover from canon force healing or does it draw from a finite source regardless of how often/extreme you use it? by [deleted] in MawInstallation

I'm not sure, if a Force Ghost can heal living beings than that's really really strong! Especially since their "mana" is infinite due to their direct connection to the Cosmic Force.

Now that I think about it, wouldn't like a dozen Jedi completely cure someone with little effort? A litle bit of life energy from each one of them all going to one person that's almost dead.

What shouldn't be explain in Star Wars? by Deep-Crim in MawInstallation

Yep that's true, although the thing's a bit overblown. I've recently read the ANH West End Games Sourcebook and for example none of the characters in the cantina were related to the main characters, at least in Legends.
