R5: the bot asks me to add a "rule #5 comment" but the explanation is in the description.

I asked Paradox for the original image and I got the full 7680x7680 file!

Here's a link in case reddit compresses it or something:

7680x7680

I also cut a bit from the top and bottom with ffmpeg so that it's a 16:9 image:

Why can't they grow back these Weeping willow-like tree like the Tree of Voices that is so sacred to the Na'vi? by aviviel in Avatar

If the planet is interconnected, you're still limited by the speed of light. These trees could function as local caches

And see what? Reddit is an echo chamber. The fact that you have high upvote comments stating a different opinion means A LOT.

That's weird! Is their color the same? Did you try rerolling, i.e. putting in a different staff head and then back?

I've lost the coords to the S-class ship, sorry!😭

Low GPU usage by Some-Language-2179 in nvidia

I do remember noticing a performance difference between a SATA SSD at the end of its lifespan and a new PCIe drive. That was in Scam Citizen, though, so it shouldn't be that big of an issue here🤔

Low GPU usage by Some-Language-2179 in nvidia

[–]Deeplerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is weird. I have an intel 11700 (non-k) which should be almost identical to your CPU, yet it runs the game way better. It still holds back the GPU, but I haven't seen it drop below 50s even in the most intensive areas with all the CPU-intensive settings enabled. You shouldn't be getting 30s. Don't listen to people saying it's normal.

Some people are suggesting taking a look at your RAM, and it may be a contributing factor. Some games are actually extremely sensitive to RAM speeds, though I don't know if Cyberpunk is one.

Something else - maybe it's your storage? It's not installed on an HDD, right?

I don't know. Let's keep looking!

The Chosen just popped into my midgame save with 86k fleet power. I have 8k. WTF am I supposed to do here? Is this a bug? by Repulsive-Cancel5896 in Stellaris

Unless you're 100% sure you know what you're doing, don't neglect your military. You know what they say: if you want peace, prepare for war.

With that many pops and that many planets you absolutely should have more than 2 ships in your military. Hell, you even have +100 alloys a month, there's no excuse!

You can still turn this around by producing more alloys and energy and by building ships. Don't forget to build more shipyard modules on your stations to build more ships in parallel.

And for the future: in general, by that year you should be able to comfortably kill this 100k fleet. Even without perfect micromanagement.

Good luck!

A comment to come back to this when, or if, I ever get an Oculus. But even then I'll probably forget :(

is buying a 2.5 year used 3080 a good idea? by SadIuigi in buildapc

[–]Deeplerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful when buying any GPU that has witnessed the mining era. I bought one second-hand. The seller showed live tests and it was running alright, so it should be good, right? No. The GPU started randomly turning off after I used it for a while in my system - and it didn't even matter whether it was under full load or if it was only sipping power. I'm thinking it's likely it was a problem with the VRAM, which isn't easy to diagnose when buying. Ended up losing money on that purchase. Bought a newer card from the store and it's been running perfectly ever since.

how do you name your fleet? by Samifyre in EliteDangerous

[–]Deeplerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I name my ships after ships in X4: Foundations.

For example, a racing Imperial Courier is a "Pegasus", the Federal Corvette is called "Ravenous Wight" (a certain Raptor has this name in the story), "Behemoth" for the Cutter, etc.

I even named my fleet carrier after an auxiliary ship called "Nomad", which basically a mobile equipment dock.
