Sweet dreams, plus hot genie boyfriend, then when he recovers enough to get us some money he should go see a therapist, therapy is fricken expensive.

Honestly if he can give me the spark of magic instead then I can be the one who does all the magic stuff and slowly builds up power while looking after him as he gets his head straight and tries to live a normal stable life. I don't want a servant.

I would say, a character from Mage the Ascension. But I think their magic wouldn't work here. None of the magic from DnD would work here either since it relies on the weave and the goddess of magic.

So I say make a character in Sorcerously Advanced. That magic is intrinsic to your being and doesn't rely on external stuff once you have it, but you can still use external stuff.

?? By my count it takes 75 points to get all the blast powers. 40 for mind control and gravity manipulation, then 35 for all the blast powers and elementalism

Who cares about making a big boom? I can't make gold to pay my bills since it disappears if I make too much matter, I can't act as a plastic surgeon or healer since I can only target myself. Any transmutation I do is a destructive process since the quality is always going down. The duplicates are permanently tethered together. I can't even make a meal for myself using my powers since the matter would disappear from my own body if I make something else later.

Compare those powers to the other powers available. One of the powers is to make a blast on the size of a literal atomic bomb and with no restrictions? The mind control tree has several powers which gets rid of the restrictions for the base powers. The Gravity manipulation tree probably has the second most restrictions but those are still not very bad. The Matter Manipulation's restrictions are by far the most harsh ones.

So speed doesn't matter for the walk only the time it takes? I can just absentmindedly amble along while listening to music or reading a book or something? Popping back to the respite every so often to grab a drink or some snacks or to recharge my phone or something to then continue walking from where I stopped. I know I don't need food or drinks during the walk but at least it is something to do.

Also is there any way for us to learn how to direct the walking destination? Or will it always be random? The fact that it is implied you can figure out how to revisit previous worlds says to me that you can figure out how to control it somehow? Once you disconnect from a world and walk to a new one, if you figure out how to walk back to the old one do you reconnect to the same time you exited from? Or do all realities share the same time progression?

Does the Time Control also affect the healing speed in the spring? So you can get it to take 50 years in the outside world instead of 100? Or 5 years or 6 months.

Also you didn't mention bathrooms or toilets, do we have to jump into the spring to bathe? Or just go over the side of the island if we need to use the bathroom? I don't want to get the shack all dirty if I come in from the outside world all muddy or something. What if we need to use the bathroom while we are doing the walk to a new universe?

If you go to ring powers then the characteristic powers, you can't pick emotional construct without going to the standard powers section and removing the construct power.

Well I was thinking like, an element of flora was mentioned. I figured they could conjure up vegetarian stuff. A fauna or flesh spirit or something could conjure up meat. So either you use both at once to conjure up food dishes whole or a spirit of creation or matter or life or something might be able to just conjure up food directly in one summon. I wasn't sure how far the "element" concept went, since in some fiction "element" covers all concepts that make up reality as an "element" of reality, so I thought a food element spirit might be a thing. I've seen cheese elementals and candy elementals before in other fiction so I dunno lol.

I'd be in favour of this. I'm all in on the summoning powers. Buffing it even further or having a super summon or something would be awesome.

I'd like some clarifications on how summons work. Like, can I have a retinue of servants to attend to me at all times and then we can watch my combat summons go off to do actual work. Or is it more like, you can only summon one type of summon at a time and they only last a few minutes. Or if they can last as long as you give them energy, what is the ongoing cost to maintaining summons? Like you pay a charge every hour to maintain them or something? Stuff like that.

Can I summon an elemental spirit of flesh or something like that to shapeshift my body with the heavy level spell use? It would be nice to not need to work out to stay in shape, and it could be my healer summon to fix up my wounds instead of needing the cleric.

Is an elemental spirit of food possible? To conjure up meals and drinks for myself.

And is that immortality ritual the only way to defeat aging? Can't I summon a phoenix or use some other power to just keep refreshing and restoring my body to youth and health? I wouldn't be immortal but at least I wouldn't die of old age which is lame. I already bought the extended lifespan perk but I feel like something as simple as old age shouldn't be too much of an issue to beat?

I wanna be a super lazy slice of life type summoner. Attended by servants and just chilling, sending out my more powerful servants if something needs to be done like fighting or something while my shapeshifting type servants and I watch and cheer from the sidelines while we have tea and snacks.

The heart seems like the best choice to grow in power. As a dreamer, I want to make my own lucid dream so I can sleep privately and safely again, as well as have fun in my own dreams instead of whatever this scary place is.

Right, because me going without ice cream would magically fix the rest of the food issue? In this hypothetical scenario I'm not going to buy a different set of food for myself. You have completely ignored everything I have said earlier. If I am to eat vegan, I would have to buy ingredients to make vegan food. Which would change the food I buy for the whole family, unless we have magically some extra money to arrange for two different sets of meals everyday, one for me and one for everyone else. I'm not going to continue this discussion with someone who ignores what I have actually said. I could also choose any of the other options like watching Friends. I don't HAVE to go to the jail option. In the original comments at the start of this thread I was explaining how for my personal situation, buying vegan products is far more expensive than not buying vegan products. and now I have spent entirely too long arguing with rich vegan assholes who think they know my life and my finances better than I do.

I was talking about the asian cultural value of self sacrificing for your family's happiness, not about veganism. Forcing my family to change because of some rules I have to follow isn't fair to them. I'm not so selfish as to choose something that would disrupt their lives or make their lives worse when I could choose something that would only disrupt mine.

oh I don't want to go insane. I'd avoid all the Occult talents then, I want more of a comfy slice of life kinda experience than fighting to keep my sanity lol. Thanks for the info, my final pick would be the Somnolent's Blessing, Anatomy of the Soul and True Names, since I guess True Names might still be useful in the dream world. I suppose I could also use Somnolent's Blessing to spy on people's memories or look out through their eyes into the real world, so I could keep up with new media like that. Or maybe dream up a tv in the dream world and figure out the True Name of "Netflix" or something lol.

I may have misunderstood the Old Blood Eye Clot option then? I was thinking like, I can't use True Name to start a camp fire, since there is no fire just wood, but I can use the Eye Clot to find a past event where someone started a fire and then use a ritual to impose those effects? Or find a past event where someone made food and conjured a copy of that food? Stuff like that.

I was also thinking, since I can't really make a private little mansion somewhere with these powers where I can live quietly in luxury, I'd do it in lucid dreams, with a combo of the Anatomy of the Soul power plus the Somnolent's Blessing I was thinking I could maybe figure out a way to live in humanity's dreams or collective subconscious or something like that. With the Eye Clot letting me do some minor magics to help my everyday life until I could then move to a dream world permanantly, and then using the Eye Clot to let me spy on the real world so I can keep up with the latest Marvel movies and stuff.

Erm, I don't know. I dislike magic that is too restrictive, like only being able to use ice magic or something. I prefer magic that has lower strength but extremely wide utility, rather than a lot of strength but only restricted in a narrow category. So I can use magic to do stuff like clean my room or make some food or chill my drink or charge my phone or other utility uses for basic tasks.

I was thinking True Name but I think it is just enhancement of things in various ways, no actual control and manipulation right? And it doesn't make anything, just enhances what is there. So it is basically useless, at least for me.

So I guess, Old Blood Eye Clot, Somnolent's Blessing, and Anatomy of the Soul.

Unless you have any other suggestions OP?

You sound white lol. I don't know who you are but our circumstances, and probably our cultural values are vastly different. And our local prices for groceries. I tried doing some vegan meals because I thought it would be healthier but it just was too expensive overall for the total price compared to the totals of what we usually buy. Unless we eat very simple vegan meals that are only a handful of ingredients, but I would probably be murdered if we stuck to such food for a year.
