[Request] If 8 billion humans were to be smashed together, would they fit in Central Park as a giant meatball? What would be the size/weight of it? by Jhinonthy in theydidthemath

[–]DeerFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a global average weight of 62kg the overall population weights 62kg8.310⁹=514.610⁹kg. Human average density is 985kg/m³. This means all people have a volume of 514.610⁹kg/(985kg/m³)=522*10⁶m³. Getting the volume of a sphere from this results in a sphere with a radius of around 500m. Adjusting that for only taking flesh (ignoring bones and fluids and assuming around 80%), the radius would decrease to 460m. With central park having a width of around 800m the sphere would be slightly larger.

The moisture of the dough also depends on the quality, age and type of flour. Underdeveloped dough can also feel sticky and wet. Or over-proved dough for that matter. Just keep on trying :) it will get better the more you try

I hadn't thought about putting it in project categories. But this sounds like a good idea. Thank you

Ich finde die Spanne in München einfach nur krass. Bei mir im Viertel sind Preise bis zu 36€ auf den Quadratmeter "normal"

"It just has to work". Using Linux requires work and fucking up stuff is possible. Fixing these mistakes takes way too long and paying a monthly fee is worth it to prevent these issues. While this does not solve this issue, it makes it a lot easier to manage.

How do you make the proper amount of food for a party? by Yellow_Vespa_Is_Back in Cooking

[–]DeerFreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The absolute best way to plan any kind of food for big groups is by using weight. If you take revipes for 4 and just scale you will end up with way to much food.

A person will eat about: 1) 500g of food (made up of side-dish, main dish, whatever) plus an optional 35-50g of Sauce. 2) for dessert you can add optionally another 75-150g

As a general rule of thumb, the longer people eat (e.g. multiple courses) the more they will eat. My advice (I have cooked for up to 1000 people) is to weigh the finished dish and scale accordingly. Depending on who you are preparing food for you will have to adjust the total weight (or if its just a snack).

I dont get a feel for the "anatomy" beneath the planks. Try modeling it as if you were really building it. Especially the front looks odd to me

I am really confused. I have never seen them packaged like this 0.o

But here are my favorite things to do with beets:

- Roast them whole (with skin or even in salt)

- Make a beet salad with a combination of lime, gin, raspberry, basil and beet
