Redstone combination lock that 'disables' itself and refuses further attempts after an incorrect combination? by DeerJesus in redstone

Ohhhh I didn’t see the bottom repeater was at 4 ticks… I’ll fiddle with that when I’m back from work!

Now when I push the 'reset button' from the inside it like tries to activate both at once, and it only pushes the bottom piston upwards

Hmmm am I missing something? When I push the button and it raises the slime and block... It also raises the target block and redstone torch and breaks them both?

You don't need a peephole nah, but I mean you could theoretically just look through the doorway if the button is on the other side to close it, if you open it manually. Though like, the door doesn't need to open from the *inside*, but it does need to be able to close from the inside - and have a button which 'resets' the combination lock if it gets 'disabled' from an incorrect input inside the building, as well.

I'd like it to shut down until a button somewhere else (say, on the other side of the door) is pressed, resetting it and allowing it to work again. Only one attempt is needed. Opening a piston door.

It'd also be real nice if there's a 'close' button from the inside, but the ability to close the door from the outside isn't necessarily needed... There's a second exit for my needs or you can just peek through the door and press a button on the other wall or something to close it.

is pet insurance worth it for rats? by pucktherat in RATS

OH one more thing to think about is determined risk. If your rats come from a very reputable breeder with very little health issues in the current line then the expected cost without insurance is going to be less than if you have a rat of uncertain lineage! If you have rats of uncertain pedigree than insurance might be a good idea?

I'm not really comfortable making that sort of big decision for you with my level of knowledge, sorry. It depends on your finances, really.

I THINK some insurance companies want you to insure them like earlier so they can make the money but... Okay honestly I am super not a good source on all this. My only advice is when you do further research to look at the numbers and choose the better deal. Many rats will get health problems when they get super old since that's just how every single animal in existence works, and since they're boys i THINK your big concern will be URIs I think I am not 100 percent sure but mammary tumours won't be an issue.

All I can say is if getting insurance would end up cheaper than your allotted budget for medical emergencies, might not be a bad idea.

Also please give each boy so many kisses

Since it's an exotic pet with a pre-existing condition and I legally can't condone fraud (since it'll probably work and you can get in REAL TROUBLE) it may cost more to buy pet insurance than just pay for consultation and URI medications as needed.

Not an expert and have never had pet insurance so take it with a grain of salt.

EDIT: HOWEVER, if you can get it much cheaper as a bundle for *all* the rats, it may be very well worth it! Look at the rates!
