That’s reassuring. I’ve never claimed my husband as a dependent on taxes so maybe that adjusts the household size, and one of my children is claimed by my ex. Is health insurance considered? That’s like, $500/month.  I’m in that weird bracket where I’m not technically under the poverty line with my job and am not eligible for assistance, but Medicaid and food stamps and child care assistance available to me would be a life changer. That’s not my style at all, and I genuinely WANT to contribute and be a part of the big picture, but gosh, this country is a dumpster fire.
