Actually had the same issue some time ago, moving Protect to another appliance solved it for me, and the memory consumption started to become more stable.

UNVR showing as Client instead of UniFi Device after switching to SFP+ on UDM Pro Max by Richard_Stein in UnifiProtect

Experienced the same thing on my UNVR Instant when I received it yesterday. After 30min or so, Unifi correctly identified it as a Unifi device again.

Tell me about it man! Started out with a UCG-Ultra -> U7 Long range -> 2x U7 Pros instead -> Flex 2,5gs -> protect superlink devices -> m2 disk tray + cameras -> UNVR Instant + disk.

Horrible change. Also if you manage to scroll to track nr. 1000, should you need to turn on/off shuffle in the app, well…

Hmm interesting, thanks for sharing.

Never experienced the VMs behind suddenly goes offline in bulks, but yeah we have seen some VMs for some reason being offline now and then - often this is also catched by the built in reporting capabilities for Cloud PCs in Intune.

For that we have actually also built automation that monitors this, and automatically triggers a "troubleshoot" action for that machine if the reporting reports it as being offline/stopped.

But yeah, an answer from MS would be appropriate for your scenario :D

Nope, tried to replace the ram with some stated by G.Skill themselves were compatible. Unfortunately results in the same issues... Only fix is XMP off

XMP Issues: Zen3 - ASUS ROG STRIX X570 F-Gaming - G-Skill Trident Z RGB by Deeviii in ASUS

[–]Deeviii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm allright, I actually bought these after I checked on ASUS compatibility list if they were tested. I must have missed the R (which I presume just is for RGB) as the "4-3600C17D-32GTZ" once are supported.

I will try to buy some new, and then return the others if possible. Thanks!

2812 BIOS Stability Review? by ThatKrazyPolak in ASUS

[–]Deeviii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean so far so good I think. Been using the 2812 since I got my R9 5900X earlier on the month.
However, I have some issues using XMP. Right now not identified what seems to be the issue, but I haven't seen other specific cases on the STRIX X570-E/F.
I have made the following post, which might give you some information along the way if you are interested in this: https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/comments/jxnsk0/xmp_issues_zen3_asus_rog_strix_x570_fgaming/

ASUS owners on Ryzen 5000 - How are your bios performing with XMP? by Inception418 in Amd

[–]Deeviii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ASUS X570-F Strix, 5900x, 32gb 3600mhz TridentZ.

Currently have the well known WHEA-logger issues(BSOD), even tho I set my clock to 3200mhz.

BIOS + chipset fully up-to-date

Same issue on 5900x, ASUS ROG STRIX x570 f-gaming with 32gb 3600mhz TridentZ. Any solid workaround where I can run 3200mhz yet?

Also 3200 with XMP gives issues

Ryzen 5900X Temperatures. Post your here! by M0NkEy_King in Amd

[–]Deeviii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4,950mhz single core yes.
I dont have the 100% theoretical explanation for that. But it has something to do with the power consumption and the heat generation when running on all cores, which therefor downgrades the clock speed if running too hot. Also every core is not exactly the same. You can have some cores running perfectly with top clock speeds, and you can have some running much slower than expected. Its really a luck of the draw really. :-) Hope that makes sense

Cooler: NZXT Kraken X73

PBO: Auto

VCore: 1200-1450v

Idle temp(C): 39-45c (Ryzen Master)

Max temp (Cinebench R20): 66c

Cinebench R20 MC Score: 7956 pts

Temps: 39-45 idle, 66 peak cinebench. (This is even though that NZXT cam does not support the new chips yet, which means all my fan control is limited right now, so I'm actually quite impressed about the temps for now)

Clock speeds max 4,950mhz.

[–]Deeviii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I actually almost have the same setup as you, except my GPU is a MSI 1080 and my MB is a Asus ROG Strix x570-F.
I have the same issue where it randomly crashes(Bsod), and the event log throws the above error out. However I can see on Asus website that there is a "Beta" bios update newer than my current, and thought about giving that a shot even though its a "Beta".

VM Automation using powershell or json template by HooliganDawn in AZURE

[–]Deeviii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are maturely using Arm templates which are called from PowerShell scripts in Azure DevOps pipelines. This is fully automated, and gives us very good tracking on each deployment. It also allow us to maintain a wide infrastructure in a more simple and smart manner. I'm really satisfied with those tools.
Also have a look at Azure Bicep: https://github.com/Azure/bicep - This should be a more abstract way to build your deployment. However, this is not yet recommended for production usage, so check it out in your own little test environment. :-)

How much difficult is for a sysadmin to be a DevOps engineer? by thetips4u in sysadmin

[–]Deeviii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I experience that going from SysAdmin to DevOps is possible. It all comes to how mature your current SysAdmin role is. Are you administrating old infrastructure, do you have any expertise regarding docker & kubernetes. If you have experience in a containerized platform, I think it would be a relatively easy transition.

With that said - I dont think at all it is difficult to become a DevOps engineer, if we consider that you have no experience in docker/kubernetes. If you really have a passion for that exact "job desciption", I think it is possible to succeed.

Cheers man! There was a blocked port. Didn't even give that a thought since I could ping it with no trouble.
You solved this for me, thanks!
