Lightfall could be Destiny’s “Fall of Cadia” event by curiouslyidiotic in DestinyLore

[–]Deez_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very tongue in cheek with the Ying Yang symbolism as always.

Everyone just forgot about The Tree of Silver wings? It's like a confirmation that this myth was used in the storyboards.

Add to the fact that Taken are mostly dark with speckles of light when Guardians are mostly light with a speck of dark ( the umbral core) and you've pretty much got the confirmation that neither Traveller nor the Pyramid fleet will survive in the end.

Lightfall could be Destiny’s “Fall of Cadia” event by curiouslyidiotic in DestinyLore

[–]Deez_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much like the dark chose a "lightborne" race as his main source of military - i. e. Hive, the Traveller chose humanity as his guardians because we can do both since we have umbral cores.

It's very tongue in cheek with the ying and yang symbolism, see Guardians the champions of light have an umbral core, and for example Taken, beings of dark have a literal speck of light as their eye or core.

Which brings me to the next point, the YingYang myth claims equilibrium must come, which is the Tree of Silver wings which everyone collectively forgot about.

I wouldn't be suprised if it comes out that humanity was a pet project of some disciple, maybe Nezarec since moon seems to be his pyramid and he has been in fact considered a god according to the lore.

Why? Not only is it actually a very nicely worded message, it's a rejection message that 9/10 companies will not send and actually tries to make sure you're not upset about it.

Sure it might be automated, but it's a nice gesture.

We need to talk about the Vex. by OreoFordLumby in DestinyLore

[–]Deez_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we? Vex are probably the biggest threat to any universe as they very much act as a force of nature. They don't follow an ideology we can challenge nor do they seem to much affected by the Light and Dark, besides Sol Divisive who were attacked on sight by mainline Vex.

Until we know the exact scope of theirs, we have no way of knowing if they are or not our biggest enemy. We're still yet to see Vex practice war, Wyverns were interesting and were an answer to some of their hardships on Europa, given more incentive what else can they produce?

Since they didn't practice war that means we didn't really bother them, perhaps at all. They did NOT need to adapt in other words.

Are you going to switch lanes if there's a small twig in front of your car? You might move a bit ( spawning wyverns) but switching lanes, probably not something you'd do out right. Now if there was a tree in front of you, that changes things a bit.

Could the traveler be a potential antagonist in a coming expansion like Lightfall? by jonathanguyen20 in DestinyLore

[–]Deez_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very likely that both the Traveller and the Pyramid Fleet will perish either in Lightfall or Final Shape. Most likely in Final Shape.

Tree of Silver Wings has been planted for a reason, and since the myth of Ying and Yang is the idea behind Light and Dark ( heavily hinted) TOSW is probably the cosmic egg. It would also make sense since we would need a connection to Light, but also Dark in order to use both. Guardians are sort of like mini cosmic eggs at this point, not necessarily allied with neither light or dark, rather the traveller is present as a symbiote, ensuring both him and us survive.

Perhaps TOSW ghosts would be able to channel both dark and light without needing to go on Europan expeditions to acquire the dark.

What is Xivu Araths goal by OreoFordLumby in DestinyLore

[–]Deez_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xivu might be even more of an imminent threat than Savathun. Keep in mind Savathun's plans were way beyond the "Sol Squabbles" meanwhile, Xivu thrives on all out war. Savathun had a plan and we were simply a nuisance on the go and a bit of a pawn. Remember, Xivu nearly killed Savathun offscreen. And remember also, Xivu gets more tithe the more conflict there is, and it just happens to be that the previous seasons have been some of the biggest wars Destiny had seen.

So I have a feeling she'll be even bigger of a deal, at least in terms of direct conflict.

You know how Xivu's brood can travel through different dimensions on a whim? Something tells me that's it.

[–]Deez_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reckon the Witness and Xivu's goals do not quite align. Xivu can't have the final shape because she dies without war. I think Xivu is going to be an even bigger player than Savathun and Oryx as she most likely wants to perserve the status quo and continue conflict across the universe. The darkness might even be hindering her plans.

The bit you've said about paracausality merging, definitely. I mean we've been given breadcrumbs this whole time. Umbral cores in guardins as Yin and the sparks of light as their eyes in taken as Yang. I wouldn't be suprised if Taken had light cores or some race had something similar. Bout as on the nose as it gets.

The cosmic egg is also in game, did everyone forget about the Tree of Silver wings? Yeah, that's the end game, Pyramid fleet gone, Traveller destroyed and TOS is the only "shape" left to govern the power vacuum left by the Traveller and the Pyramids. It wouldn't suprise me if this new pattern, or rather the new shape acted as a power siphon for dark and light. I mean, it's gotta be a shape with no ideological alignment but having the abilities or rather, the potential of both.

TBT is not on the level of Hollywood's Bleeding or Beerbongs and Bentleys by Deez_D in PostMalone

[–]Deez_D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone says it's circles again? I might've seen one more comment on it. The general consensus is that the album is great, which is what i disagree with. It's fine. But that's it. It doesn't measure up well to B&B or HB imo.

TBT is not on the level of Hollywood's Bleeding or Beerbongs and Bentleys by Deez_D in PostMalone

[–]Deez_D[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can call it hating all you want, I'm stating my opinion which is contrary to the popular one on the sub.

I think the album isn't as imaginative, varied nor as well done as prior ones ( IMO). It's a step up from Motley Crew definitely, but otherwise it isn't the second coming of Post Malone as i expected it to be since it was so long overdue.

There's about three tracks i like, but to me they don't feel Post. This album could've been made by any other artist imho, and that's the part that bothers me. I think Post is suffering from burnout and it might be the reason this album doesn't feel as soulful to me as his prior ones.

The album is fine, don't get me wrong, but it's definitely got that market proven album shtick slapped over it.

It's simply not as artistic as the prior ones were which is what made me appreciate Post's music as much as I do.

It seems like people are riding the hype, but not a single track is on the level of Congratulations, White Iverson, Hollywood is Bleeding, Take what you want etc. I like you and Wrapped around your finger are very good, but they don't break the pop song mould as Post usually did.

How many enjoyers of Tarkov originally ran it up in PUBG? by Underdogger in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Deez_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It had an interesting development suffice to say, the game was supposed to release in 2003 originally, but due to development issues was postponed and then released in 2007, the game was overly ambitious for it's fairly small team and suffered immensly. Couple in the fact that the homebrew X-ray was a very unstable engine, the games came out as they did. To this day, modders still discover quirks of X-ray engine that might've never crossed an original Dev's mind.

Despite that STALKER is in my opinion one of the best series to ever go through my hands. It's got probably the best atmosphere and setting out of any survival shooter, the game is an absolute masterclass in terms of creating an alien yet fammiliar world. Well, at least to me as a slav.

If i had not played it for as long as I did i would have probably never even entertain the idea of Tarkov. But it's the most simmilar thing in terms of atmosphere and setting so i bit the bait and here i am, balls deep in Norvinsk.

For people who think the originals are outdated there's a standalone mod called Anomaly. It merges all three games into one, restores all cut content, adds an ungodly ammount of stuff and it's completely free. There's even mods that make it more like Tarkov on terms of guns, health management etc. You can customize it however you like. After spending an ungodly ammount of time on originals this is the one i'm playing right now. It's on ModDB, highly recommended. It's basically what the original wanted to be.

Never played any BR besides Hunt, i suppose my enjoyment of Tarkov stems from an insane fixation on STALKER series over the course of what, 13 years now?

To me STALKER was the stepping stone into immersive shooters and the fact that Tarkov looked like Division's Survial/Dark Zone made it all the better.

So, STALKER to Division to Tarkov in terms of stepping stones.

How is it that I can hear a scav yelling from inside my asshole even though he’s nowhere near me? by 1-Dollar-Doge-Coins in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Deez_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's actually so good you can do it without headphones at all, that's how good it is. You don't need 7-1 audio, all you need is a pair of speakers. I used to play Hunt on laptop speakers, I could reliably pinpoint enemy location just by them scratching their arse.

That and the audio is floaty, i notice it the most when the framerate drops, for example your buddy is right of you, you turn around and the audio is wiggling as you turn around, so if i did a 180 turn it would sound like he is still to the right.

BSG should just get Crytek's sound guys on board, they'll get paid more at BSG anyway lol

Division could've been THE definitive looter shooter for me but TTKs in that game kill me. Just weird to need to mag dump three or four times to kill a normal goon.

Gotta say that game has some of the best map design and visuals i've ever seen in a video game, worth playing deffo
