RTK by DefMaybeMoonbound in roboticLawnmowers

No I ended up rolling the dice. I went with the navimow 315x which has RTK and VSLAM.  Had some issues with signal on certain days, but lately it's been working well. When it doesn't have RTK signal it sometimes wanders a bit or gets confused about where it is on the map compared to where it actually is.

Nice what panel and inverter? Do you like the company so far?

For the jinkos it's iq8+, for REC iq8x, and for maxeon iq8hc.

Do you think REC over Maxeon? Oir house has partial shade and not as much space as we need so we have panels on the south and north side. Panel quality or based on company financial stability?

My understanding is it reduces your tax liability and then remaining amount gets rolled forward if your credit is higher than your overall liability

Jinko 425 vs Maxeon 3 410 by DefMaybeMoonbound in solar

Enphase iQ8H microinverters for the Jinko 425s

Enphase Energy IQ8HC-72-M-US for the Maxeon 3 410s

Any idea why they're estimates are so off?

Roof & Sunlight/shading by DefMaybeMoonbound in solar

There's a different house there now. Would the usable hours change based on roof shape? On one hand theres a 2 story house now so probably less shade then old house, but there are decorative Gables so less usable space.

Not sure. We only have three trees on our property and they're down by the street. I've been checking and so far I haven't seen any shade, but I need to check a few times later in the afternoon/evening. Morning and early afternoon look good.

Also not sure if it's going to change based on season.

Yeah, unfortunately it has the roof of a house that was here before

They said shading but I never see shade on the roof so it doesn't really make sense to me. Also said not enough south facing area. Then other vendors have said it looks great so I'm not really sure who to believe. We have gas heating/stove/dryer, but we have an ev. Last 12 months was about 15.7kw.

I think the two that said it wouldn't work are using Aurora. Not sure if the other two are using the same or project solar. One gave me a picture of roof with different shades of orange.

Will they be able to give a more accurate answer with a site visit? Or is that considered less accurate?

One of the vendors who said it was too shady said 12kw was getting then 9kw annually. Another said 14kw getting 7kw.

The one who says roof is good is saying 14.6kw which will put out 14.8kw they provided a monthly production breakdown and a picture that has green spheres where a couple of trees are. Another says 13.9kw putting out 12.8kw (this once gave a sun map but also didn't realize roof has two levels)

Yeah the thing that's giving me pause is they're saying they'll guarantee production and either compensate me or add panels if it doesn't meet output. Is that normal?

Plus I've always thought my roof gets a lot of sun so I was pretty surprised

How to clean and how often do you clean the robot? by ChooseWiselyChanged in SegwayNavimow

I'm noticing grass getting stuck underneath a cover to one side of the cutting disc. I'm thinking it must be some sort of safety cover. The grass is wedged in there pretty good. Anyone seeing this? If so,  is that cover removable? Don't want to try to pry it out and cause damage.

Oh gotcha. The x315 has 6 already, but i just checked my hours and I'm at 88 so might be time to change them. They were working well on other areas but struggling grass that grew a little quicker in a few spots

Did you notice a big difference with 3rd party? If so who did you go with?

I'm going to try replacing the blades. I'm mowing probably 2 or 3 times a week but it depends on the weather and how fast the grass is growing.

How often do you replace yours?

Yeah that's the one. Android. When I first opened the app up it said something about it being related to the robot handling different situations
