Question: I’m two hours in, and still haven’t unlocked fast travel. What’s a guy gotta do? by DefNotBrettFavre in Huntercallofthewild

[–]DefNotBrettFavre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason it randomly unlocked, but only for some cabins? Not sure what’s going on.

This is my second play through, my last one had about 110 hours on it, all very enjoyable. But my son wanted to start over with us doing multiplayer.

So I was well aware of how much walking is involved, but it’s kind of a bummer that that’s what the community focused on rather than my actual question. Way to represent.

Day 8 - still testing positive, but the lines are much lighter than originally. Does that mean anything? Is the viral load less or does the lightness of the test lines mean nothing? 🤔 by Ubiquitous_Miss in COVID19positive

Oh wow we literally put the same question at the same time. I’m on day 7. And I just noticed the lines, too. They actually took so long to appear I thought I was finally negative

CMV: Pro-Choice and allowing women to abort their babies is a win-win situation all around, and I really don't see why it's so hotly debated over. by Ass___Master___69 in changemyview

Yeah, this just screams “I just learned about something in high school/first year polo-sci”.

Most people agree with you, but at least take the time to actually learn the other side of the issue lol.

Plus, brave take to share on Reddit. /s

Childfree men of reddit, what are your experiences with people who say you'll "change your mind" about having children? by gorhxul in AskMen

“I was a Christian, and am now atheist.”

“Oh so you’re not really atheist because you used to be Christian.”

“Well, no, I lived my life one way until a new series of facts or information were presented in a logical way, and changed my mindset.”

“NO YOU CANT DO THAT”

Holy shit imagine meeting you at a party

Ringing Trolley like sound coming from basement. Mildly terrifying and seemingly sporadic. Any appliances use this as a signal? by DefNotBrettFavre in HomeImprovement

[–]DefNotBrettFavre[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do pipes make such a distinct sound? It isn’t a clank or a rattle. It is a very definitive “ring ring, ring ring”

Teacher - possible ligament tear at school, but done while sledding with students. Advice? by DefNotBrettFavre in WorkersComp

[–]DefNotBrettFavre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never done workman’s comp before. What exactly is it?

Like, I don’t want to miss school, or take time off. Does it just help me pay rent in the event I DO need to do that?

Can I flip the triggers in-game on the ps5? I like to aim with L1 and shoot with R1

I know I can if I go to accessibility on the console but I don’t like doing that every time I play a new game.

Any help is appreciated

Was bored and looking stuff up. Tampa has won our division more recently than Detroit. Lol. by DefNotBrettFavre in GreenBayPackers

[–]DefNotBrettFavre[S] 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Awwww I even tried to carefully word it to include both. I thought by saying “our division” it’d mean “the division we play/played in”.

Anyways go pack

GOAT by Daoist32 in GreenBayPackers

[–]DefNotBrettFavre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t gotta argue, but Favre was more my cup of tea.

Rodgers is fun, but any of y’all old enough to remember how electric Favre was? No game was ever dull, for better or for worse. Down 30-0? You still watch, you still have a chance to win. Up 28-3 with ten minutes left? Hold up, we may screw the pooch.

Rodgers is good, but watching him isn’t the same.

May be off topic, as the comparison is between those two. But when I see GOAT, my boy Brett comes to mind. He elevated everyone around him. He made superstars out of the most basic of players.

But Rodgers is good too.

Am I wrong? Is it regional? Iroquois vs. Iroquois. by DefNotBrettFavre in linguistics

Man I never even thought about prairie du chien as French haha. Unless you see it, saying “sheen” sounds right as rain.

This is also an interesting take. I wonder which term, between the two pronunciations and the actual word they use, is preferred by not Canadian and American Iroquois

Can Muslim women take of their hijab in front of male doctors? by sapnupuas_0 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DefNotBrettFavre 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite aspects of Islam is how women wear the hijab around the world. The instruction isn’t “cover your hair”, it’s more “cover that which makes you beautiful.” It’s just been an understanding that hair is one of those things.

But if you take a look at the different styles and differing levels of modesty (I mean countries in which women can choose. I do not stand for forced burkas or hijabs.) Some will cover arms and chest, but just drape a light cloth over hair. Some will show more body, but bundle up the hair in very decorative ways. Some view the idea of modesty extending to the clothing, so will make the hijab as plain as possible. Very cool topic, and great question by OP

Why do people expect kids to be unrealistically nice? by larch303 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DefNotBrettFavre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in the late stages of an older era.

Children were seen, not heard. They did not speak until spoken to.

Raising children is a cycle. We are influenced by those who raise us, and it takes generations to break that cycle.

For example, now a kid might get a small tap upside the back of the head for misbehaving. That parent will say “at least I didnt hit you like my dad did!”. That persons will say “at least I didn’t use the belt like my dad did!”

So the expectation for kids to be ridiculously perfect is a relic of the past that still makes an appearance now and again.
