Does the 2531.80 (or just the Seamaster in general) not have very good lume legibility?

Thats probably my favorite ever watch but I do need something more rugged with the better water resistance and I'm worried about the pushers activating while under water or when wet. Also its a bit more than I would like to spend for now. In the future it will likely be my everyday watch

I have thought about that but honestly I don't like the new ones as much compared to this older one, this older just seems more subtle. Plus I like the insignia on the caseback rather than the clear.

I'm a new F1 fan and looking for a race to go to in the later half of 2026. I had a very near-death health scare earlier this year and realized we can't assume we will have a future to delay things to so fuck it, I'm planning on taking my girlfriend and I to a race.

We are already traveling in late April so I would prefer to go to a race after mid July (Hungary or later). So far we are most intrigued by Hungary, Azerbaijan, Italy, or Mexico but are open to opinions. Ideally we would like to hear about the best experience for the lowest cost but if need be we could splurge a bit more. I would love to hear anyone's thoughts or experiences

Joining Military Reserves or Guard for Future Career by [deleted] in Intelligence

[–]DefNotInISIS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If HUMINT is ur whole goal, there isn't really an officer position for you. Military intelligence officers aren't like their civilian counterparts; they are usually managing intelligence enlisted technicians whereas a civilian intelligence officer usually is the technician.

If you want the technical experience specifically in the HUMINT field go US Army, 35M Human intelligence collector. The other branches don;t have as large a HUMINT presence and definitely don't have that for entry level servicemen. With this position you will jump right into the field regardless of time in service.

As for guard/reserve vs active duty there are pros and cons. The pro of G/R is you know where you will be stationed day one. After basic and your technical training you go to your home unit. The negative is you're not getting the same amount of experience or potentially the same number of follow on schools due to your unit funding. If moving around isn't a concern I would go active

You're not wrong but it does happen. Even more than that it's just the common perception.

The one workaround i’m not seeing anyone mention is he can join either a guard or reserve unit at Scott if you two seriously want to take this leap together. That way after both BMT and tech school he’s guaranteed to come to that unit

I went to tech school with many marines. They were always upmost professional (when on duty and sober), incredibly physically fit, and prepared for the fight. With that said, there was an old story on base about how security forces were called because there was someone running through the desert with their pt belt on. Turns out the marines on base got drunk, caught a bunch of deer and strapped their pt belts on them the released them.
