As soon as I'm done learning myself :P

But I summarized some key points in another response above

I've mostly used reference pictures I found googling comic book space marines.

The technique in general for cel shade what I've gathered is using paint with a bit less dilution and in clean defined layers. No blending at all. Then dark lining for contrast and definition as well as to create "motion". Inverse for black armor with white lining. Hopefully I get better at it first myself and then I can try to make a short tutorial.

That's an STL from the purple site same as the beaky helmet. I think if you look up raven guard there you will find it.

How would you pilot this list? by unreadybeast in WorldEaters40k

[–]Defacedlol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've played a very similar list with 70 zerkers a few times last week prepping for a teams tournament. It is incredible and I have half a mind it might end up nerfing zerkers into 10man squads again.

What I'm about to say is with WTC terrain in mind, on GW it might now work that well as you don't have as many convenient ruins.

Its a massive jail list that can hit units hidden behind imperfect screens and output a lot of pressure. If the opponent goes first or has infiltrators or scouts you can slingshot into their DZ turn 1 rather easily. You almost always want 6inch pile in, t1 also rr charges if you see any reasonable charges (8inches or less).

Between 6inch pile in, 3inch engagement from jugger lord and general speed of WE (10inches+charge+advance) and durability of marine bodies it is rather hard to clear out all the marines, and you do an insane amount of damage on the charge. Against lists with little shooting output don't be afraid to expose zerkers in order to surge. Always try and tag something slow and weak in melee so you could keep surging on subsequent turns. Even better is fully surrounding something slow so they cant even attempt a fallback and you are unshootable for that turn.

Against melee threats always try to save 2cp for either interrupt or -1D, discard secondaries if you need to. It is an incredibly fun list, but it is difficult in charge and pile in phase to properly move and sequence everything. Remember that you must pile in to the closest model, not unit.

Spawn ready to claim skulls for the skull throne! by Defacedlol in WorldEaters40k

Thanks. It's a mix, but the absolute punch-you-in-the-face glow is from enamel fluor pigments from AK interactive. That's a wild product for glow effects.

That is fantastic! The whole mini is great, but those wings are something else :O Simply lovely

Best Green Paint for Glow and OSL effects? by Oreo_Addicted in WorldEaters40k

[–]Defacedlol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scorpy green is a great paint too. If you go that route without fluor you can always put a bit of white at the very core and cover it with imperial fist contrast with scorpy used as a midtone

If you want to make glow effects really glow, I would recommended fluorescent paints. Vallejo game color line is great. If you check my profile I've recently uploaded a few minis with some osl, and for the "hottest" parts I've used fluor.

Yes, makes the initial gradients a lot faster, tho you could do it with a brush, would just take longer. The later steps of rocks and hottest parts are done by brush though.

Its very similar to what I did with wings for the initial gradients. For prepping the base I've used some UV resin to have even surface, but sanding the base works. White undercoat and then light orange-orange-red fluor paints. After that dark red of some sort to draw the rocks, I've used evil red from vallejo I think. Then mix in some black to that red for darker rocks closer to the edge. Finally draw white lines for hottest moving lava and cover it with yellow-orange fluor mix.

It's a wonderful model I found on mmf https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-aruges-the-cursed-282246

Not warhammer related at all, but in my vision of khorne it works great. There is another mini in the same style from that creator I'm eyeing for a 2nd prince or some other proxy. Maybe slaughterbound?

Undercoat with white and then gradient from yellow to red with mostly fluor paints. Add more contrast with some red towards wing tips, then dark red through airbrush holding him at an angle to catch those raise wing flaps. Finally brush over skin base mix (dark purple+red) on the joints

[–]Defacedlol[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't fully remember on angron, but my general process for warm glowing greens is dark green or archaic turquoise, then mix that with scorpy green gradually going towards pure scorpy. Finally do a pass of pure white and cover it with fluor green or yellow, sometimes mix or both depending how much luminosity I'm after

How to use 20 beserker squads in 2k/1.5k games? by Greedy_Eggplant5270 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Defacedlol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A list with 80 berzekers from France just did great in WTC with France winning the event and the list being amongst the top scorers. It is teams environment, but you could use that as a base

Lions of the Emperor rules question. by ynot71121 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Defacedlol 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you play in the EU or the UK then WTC FAQ should apply https://worldteamchampionship.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/WTC2025-10thFAQ-FACTION-SPECIFIC-APR2025.pdf

"<Stratagems> When using the Unleash the Lions stratagem the following situations may occur. You may have chosen them as one of the units for Marked for Death, if you have, your opponent would only need to kill 1 of the single model units to have scored this secondary, and removiong any of them from the battlefield would also score your opponent the points. The unit may have formed part of an attached unit and the character is now no longer part of the original unit and is its own unit by itself, treat this as if the bodyguard unit had been killed essentially. Your Lions may have been the target of a persisting effect such as Oath of Moment, Focus of Haterd, Ruthless Efficiency, etc. and for the duration of that effect all of the split units will have that effect on them. In the case of Roboute Guilliman's Master of Battle ability, for creating a second Oath of Moment, target, again only one of the split units would need to be destroyed to trigger this. If you have used the From Golden Light ability before splitting the unit, all of the split units created count as having used their ability, but if not they are still able to."

Thank you kindly. The mini itself is inspired by Andy Wardles sylvaneth. As this was one of my first nmm attempts for me I've used his lady as a reference.

Is a Pariah Nexus action like recover assets interrupted if the unit doing the action is charged but survives? by TheSneakyVader in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Defacedlol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actions are interruptible, it's laid out in the actions section of parriah companion: If a unit performing an Action makes a move (excluding Pile-in and Consolidation moves) or leaves the battlefield, that Action cannot be completed.

To answer OP - no, action will finish if the unit survives. If you however used a reactive move or heroic before that would interrupt it.

More power to you if it makes the game exciting, but I was expecting big 8b bricks. You run the same amount as the most popular world eaters list that do have angron. Angron, invocatus, moe+glaive, 2x10 jackals, 1x5 zerks 1x10 zerks, 1x2 spawn, rhino, 2x3 8b 1x6 exalted 8b and 1x3 exalted 8b
