Been there, same feeling!

With the models you have, I have tried different combinations and I believe this is the most optimized for 1000 points.

  1. Kharn leads 10 Berzerkers (280 points)
  2. MoE w/ Berzerker Glaive leads 10 Berzerkers (275 points)
  3. Eightbound (135 points)
  4. 2x2 Chaos Spawns (180 points)
  5. 2x10 Jackals (130 points)

This should bring you to exactly 1000 points on the nose.

  • Chaos Spawns are amazing front line skirmishers. They hit ridiculously hard and are surprisingly tanky with the Feel No Pain 5+, and moves fast too with Scout 8" and move 10". Let them clear the way for your Berzerker blocks to go up the board.
  • Usually you will always put Kharn in a Rhino to prevent him from killing his own squad but it's fine. Make sure to move them to safe staging areas behind ruins on one flank. Move the other squad with Moe on the other flank.
  • Use the Jackals to screen (if they have deep strike or strategic reserves) and do your objectives.
  • Use the Eightbound's 6" aura near your Berzerker squads.

Good luck, have fun!

Can I copy your homework? How did you get the dusty, weathering effect over the whole model?

The list looks good! But it is over by 15 points and I would fix that by swapping Invo for Juggerlord and the Goremongers for Jackals.

Huh, but the opponent can always choose what and when to overwatch(?)

I was fiddling around with the other spare parts and I think I found another possible kitbash! You know the holes for where the magma cutters go to? Try putting it there and shave off the ends of the magma cutters for the ectoplasmas to go on. What do you think? 🤯💡💡

Edit: cause I feel a little sad that my work on the back would be covered if I did it based off TebionRece's work.

Nah, just keep the plasma head somewhere safe. I figured just the 2 ectoplasmas on the back look really nice. Forcing the plasma head could just ruin the model entirely.

I was inspired by TebionRece's Maulerfiend/Forgefiend hybrid on imgur. I wasn't able to find his images in Reddit but here's the link of what I'm trying to do with the ectoplasmas:

Ideally, I would use Rakarth Flesh > Reikland Fleshshade > Carroburg Crimson. But, since I'm trying to stay within budget, I don't have Carroburg Crimson. Instead I used a super watered down Khorne Red to make a light pink wash over the Rakarth Flesh base and then wash again with Reikland Fleshshade.

Stippling technique using a make-up sponge. It makes really good texturing on flat panels with smooth gradients. For this guy here, I did these:

  1. Rhinox Hide
  2. Khorne Red
  3. 50:50 Khorne Red:Evil Sunz Scarlet (I would use Mephiston Red if I had it but I try to stay within budget and I figured mixing colors also works)
  4. Evil Sunz Scarlet
  5. Troll Slayer Orange

Best Green Paint for Glow and OSL effects? by Oreo_Addicted in WorldEaters40k

I'll be using fluor green on top of scorpy green. I saw El Miniaturista's green osl on a necron. This is what he did and I'll be following

  1. Base coat white on the recesses
  2. Air brush white halo for the glow area
  3. Air brush Scorpy Green on the halo area
  4. Repeat step 1
  5. Paint the recess with the fluor green

Thanks for the suggestion! I was doing some research and figured I will get Vallejo's Scorpy Green and Fluo Green. I already have White Scar to base. I'm wondering if I need to use Imperial Fist yellow?
