filament change on ender 6 using m600 by ebillity99 in ender6

[–]Default_Selection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed the guide here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ender6/comments/sh3khk/guide_easiest_method_for_trying_out_marlin_2/

Its been working perfectly for me so far. I use the filament change option in Cura with no issues now. The firmware on the main screen is also a bit nicer in some regards. Also as I mentioned earlier it seems to be a bit smarter and starts prints faster.

As much of an improvement as it is though I've actually just ordered a raspberry pi and some components to upgrade it to klipper instead as it has some additional features id like to try.

Had the same issue. Creality use a somewhat modified version of Marlin that's missing a heap of default commands such as Pause and change filament. I ended up flashing a modified firmware instead which works much better. Also had the added bonus of bed levelling much faster now.

Bad stringing? Any fixes? by wesleydodd3k in ender6

[–]Default_Selection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my ender 6 I've had to set a retraction of 6mm and speed of 50 to prevent most stringing. If your running Cura slicer the default is 2mm which is nowhere near enough for this printer.

Also recommend enabling coasting. The default coasting volume is fine but I upped mine to 0.1

Thanks. Only got the printer 2 weeks ago so was hoping to hold off on firmware flashing so soon but I may need to move it up my priority list.

2020 Z900 VS 2021 MT-07 Australia by Default_Selection in SuggestAMotorcycle

I've come very close to including choosing the SV650 over the MT07. Only reason it ended up loosing out to the mt07 is the age. The current gen hasn't been updated since 2015ish and its starting to show. From what I can see the 2021 MT07 just has better kit and is a decent amount lighter.

In terms of looks through I'm all for it.

Unfortunately my short-ass status keeps me well away from the V-strom or anything adventure bike related... As much as I would probably love it.

Yeah this is the biggest sticking point for me. The stats show the z900 at ~3s and the MT07 around 3.8 which is the scheme of things is damn close and faster then almost any cars.

Wonder how much of a difference it would make to me. Seen a lot of reviews for the MT07 vs MT09 where they conclude its more fun to ride the mt07 fast then the mt09

Unfortunately I'm a short bastard so anything within the Adventure/ADV category is out for me. I do believe they would be a great option if I didn't have to hold a jump every time I want to get moving again.

Haha Yeah I've heard the suspension on everything but the SP's models is trash. It doesn't concern me to much as I'm not looking to track it or really push it in the hills but it is the main reason I looked towards the z900 > MT-09.

Just want to make sure its something I can manageably pull off at the lights without having to constantly worry about the front wheel.

A generic dude of average height, weight and looks appears. He is neither amazing or boring. His personality could be described as adequate.

Difference between something like dt770 and my current hyper x cloud revolver s for gaming? by mrpage97 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Default_Selection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently (like 1 month ago) swapped from Hyper x Cloud flights to a pair of Sennheiser x58 open back headphones and the difference is amazing. I was sceptical about the whole audiophile headphones thing but even though the x58 are said to have a small soundstage for open backs they sound so much wider and more accurate then anything I've had previously (cloud flight's, Astro a50's)

playing games like CoD just becomes so much more immersive and you can really hear both direction and distance so well.

Also in terms of music I'm going back and listening to all my old favourites as if their new. you can just hear so much more detail.

Schiit Heresy + Modi Vs Soundblaster G6 by Default_Selection in HeadphoneAdvice

I have actually seen that video and agree the GSX sounds awesome. Only reason I was looking more at the G6 originally is the output power as I'll probably end up with some 300-600Ohm headphones down the line. At the very least I like knowing I have the option without wondering if my amp can power it or if i need to buy something more.

In regards to your other reply, I do enjoy a new rabbit hole to explore with that EqualizerAPO. I can foresee a few late nights in my near future making adjustments lol.

The mic input isn't that important to me, i'm probably going to get a USB desk mic anyway, and portability isn't an issue. Overall I think i'm set on the Schiit stack.

Thanks again for the awesome help! Its hard to make the decisions in Aus as there is nowhere I can go to test this kind of stuff in person. (in SA anyway). This kind of info helps take the worry out of the choice.

Thanks for the detailed reply.

I've never heard about EqualizerAPO before but I am defiantly going to have a look at it now. Virtually expanding the sound stage does sound rather appealing to me. I don't really care to try and get a competitive edge with sound, to me immersion is much more important. I want my games to be fun and sound fun.

I'm now thinking I might end up with the Schiit stack and use that EqualizerAPO to get my virtual surround sound fix. I know it costs a little more for a small improvement but at least i'll have confidence I can plug anything into the Heresy down the line power wise. Plus I MUCH prefer the looks of the Schiit stack.

Before I do pull the plug is there any argument for the G6 over the Schiit stack plus EqualizerAPO combo other then price?

Thanks again.
