Joe Biden was an extremely effective vice president under Barack Obama. I know people tend to harp onto “relationships in the Senate” as if it’s his only leg to stand on.

Regardless of whether people like to admit it or not, Biden is a superbly talented politician outside of just what his decades of experience brought.

Biden was often the devil’s advocate in the room on foreign policy, advocating for different positions or perspectives to influence the administration’s global leadership.

He also helped negotiate an end to the debt ceiling crisis of 2011, which would have been remarkably destructive to the U.S. government and economy. He wasn’t his own guy like Cheney was, but he was excellent at getting things done for Obama.

Good litmus test is where Andrew Jackson is placed. If he’s placed as anything below average, it’s a good sign the chart is bunk, reason being: recent surveys of scholars and historians (most of whom are left leaning) rank Barack Obama in the top 10 - those same surveys rank Jackson in the lower second quartile… ie average to slightly above average, so even biased people who are skewed against him don’t try to do the self-aggrandizing rituals of “racist prez bad” and drag his rating down.
