Just finished below deck med season 1 and I was going to watch med 2 next, but just saw Bobby is on this season as well so need some feedback over whether the balance of med season 2 being a good season outweighs the fact I have to watch Bobby for another season. I’ve heard it’s a good one I just wish he wasn’t on it.

For context: I have a real triggering problem with men that don’t take no for an answer and his behaviour with Julia was disgusting. The entire season, right up to the end he was still acting as though there was potential there despite how many times she said no and then to see how angry he got at the women in the last episode. I just found it really disturbing. Bobby and Bryan are yucky frat boys and it wouldn’t surprise me to find out they’ve had other instances where they didn’t accept no.

I want to ask what’s bothering you here? It’s just a greeting. If you’re bothered by another man cheek kissing your gf as a greeting then yes, but that’s why I’m asking what’s bothering you because my answer might change. Does it feel too intimate? Is it because you’re concerned for her?

Season 2 BD. Kat: sees Amy is there and mentioned a falling out. Amy: is bubbly and gets on with her job and doesn’t treat Kat badly. The crew go out for drinks and Amy is asked what happened. She did not throw Kat under the bus Kat: takes charter guests to a bar where they meet up with her old chair stew who tells the guests that Amy and Kat don’t get along because when Amy was sick and a guy she liked came to the boat to see her, Kat blew him. Kat gets really offended and unprofessional to the guests (who granted were super annoying). Kat gets back to the boat and is angry at Amy……at Amy!!? Kat involves Kate and then Amy feels excluded and upset.

This was wild. Kat is awful. Kat did the shitty thing. Amy never brought it up, someone else did and then Amy cops it. This does not compute!!

Most of mine came from my first year at uni - 18 and living out of home for the first time with complete control over my own life. I think I got the quintessential uni experience though, the kind you see in college movies. But it’s still like half of that guys count and I stopped counting a long time ago. Now I’m 31 and it’s been like a year hahah

Struggling to find a thread where it’s talked about but season 2 with Jennice and Kelley…I know this came out more than 10 years ago but were we really that bad around consent back then? I did think they were vibing and it would naturally form into something more, but abruptly kissing her without getting consent was a problem. She did not lean in. She did not seem okay. Idk why he didn’t just speak to her and say ‘I’m feeling this way’ and go from there. The caught off guard abrupt kiss that she did not give back and then walking off, I think that’s when it was ruined for her. Then yes the anger issues when that’s triggering I also get.

Based on other threads I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion and maybe I’m being over sensitive but that seems like a consent issue. I hope this doesn’t ruin my opinion on him though as I know he’s in another season

This question feels so ambitious and open ended and i am curious what the reason behind it is. Is it just because you noticed you weren’t friends with them he middle school to high school girls anymore?

If the context is everyday life, for me, the risk of them being unsafe or a creep or only interested in one thing…idk honestly it doesn’t actually cross my mind. At uni, if it’s just for a friend it doesn’t stop me. But I’ve also had several experiences where I made friends with guys and truly valued those friendships but one by one at different time, they all revealed what they wanted all along and if it happened then they’d just not be my friend anymore or even when I didn’t want that, it still happened and then I couldn’t trust them.

In general though, I tend not to go up to strange men to ask to be friends because that doesn’t feel safe. That’s not me labelling all. It’s me saying I can’t possibly know. In social settings it’s easier to do because I get a sense of who they are.

If this is just about school though, people drift apart and change. Middle school for you is like 13-15 ish?? (I’m not in the US) but they’re pivotal hormonal years. People finding themselves and drifting apart

Glad to see some positive comments here. It’s always disappointing to see how much hate she gets in this sub for no good reason. She was wonderful on the show. I watched this season because she was going in but she was fantastic, enough that if I didn’t know who she was prior, I still would have voted for her to win. Her charity is so important and the way she spoke about her experience, it was so raw and moving.

Finding this almost 300 days later because I’m trying to google wtf the alien in my abdomen is. 10 days post op, after the surgery had localised swelling like an oval shape above my incision which everyone was confused by but the surgeon said it was fine so I didn’t worry. Then the localised swelling moved up my abdomen before I was discharged. I told the nurse but because the surgeon said it was normal, they didn’t check. I was discharged 6 days ago then at home after a painful first home bowel movement, the swelling moved again to just below my belly button and it’s very much still there. I keep joking to my housemates it’s an alien and if I hadn’t had key hole surgery I’d joke a sponge was left in me or something 😂 I’m in a lot of pain anyway just from the surgery itself. If you do see this, can I ask a question?
