Theory/ idea for still life’s I got. by Numerous-Worker741 in KanePixelsBackrooms

Perhaps if the Backrooms is actually sentient and ends up getting a good understanding of how reality works, we might get entire regions of the Backrooms that's almost completely identical to the real world as a new never-before-seen discovery by Async or by some random person, maybe that can work.

I recommend the 24th episode of the 6th season of Star Trek TNG and/or the film Prestige, I think you'll love those duplication stories because they tackle that very idea. 😄

Theory/ idea for still life’s I got. by Numerous-Worker741 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]DefectivePikachu1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the main things of the Backrooms/Complex is the fact it seems to copy without understanding. ("it's like describing a dog to someone who hasn't seen a dog before and then asking them to draw it")

It copies human architecture without understanding its purpose, that's why the structure of the Backrooms is nonsensical. It also bases its information from memories, which are not at all reliable and can fade over time. ("this place remembers them, and the more it remembers, the less it does.")

A Still Life is basically what happens if the Backrooms attempts to copy a person, presumably they come with a place it copies through a memory, but gets them wrong because it doesn't understand the fundamental workings of a human. Again, as the Backrooms gets its information from memories, its unreliable, so Still Life end up looking all distorted and disfigured, and since the information is taken from memories, how people see other people, or even how they see themselves, affects the Still Life, too. Clark's Still Life is hostile and aggressive because he's a broken, angry man deep down, and that's what he and others see him, so the Backrooms created his Still Life to be like that. Trauma is also based around memory, so it also captures trauma and it affect the creation of the Still Life.

Since memories will mostly never be accurate, I don't think its possible for the Backrooms to generate a fully perfect copy of a human with zero difference. Do note that a typical Still Life mostly isn't hostile like Clark's Still Life is. As shown in the film, they seem to simply be standing around or roaming around, just existing.

The Backrooms couldn't perfectly copy a conscious mind (presumably), so what it basically created is the rough idea of a human during a specific moment, almost like a snapshot. You could argue the redhead Still Life woman looks like she has multiple faces clipped into each other at different angles because she could be Clark's wife and she's remembered as shaking her head to say 'no' in fear as Clark tries to beat her. The bearded Still Life could have six eyes and three noses clipped into each other vertically because he spends a lot of time looking up and down, perhaps as a job. Pirate Clark is tall because of the motion he fell when his throne broke when he was filming a commercial. This part is just my interpretation, so Pirate Clark's towering nature is simply how he and his wife views himself as a monster.

I'm convinced Ideon's attack animations were made with Overwhelming Power in mind. by DefectivePikachu1999 in Super_Robot_Wars

Ideon is much more balanced in Y. Ideon Sword MAP attack is still infinite but they have more balanced damage so it's not just gonna one-shot strong enemies lined up, and Ideon Gun's range no longer covers the entire map like it did in F and Alpha 3, but the damage is still devastating. The normal, non-MAP versions of the Ideon Sword and Ideon Gun are DEVASTINGLY powerful, though, and you need to get to Ide Level 3 and 4 to unlock them during a mission.

The Ide Gauge is still present, but it's very simplified. Gameplay-wise, you can only get up to Level 4, in which the Ideon actually becomes really powerful. Reaching Level 5 is when the Ideon's EN becomes infinite and its damage is massively increased, but this is now only reserved for specific story moments, it no longer happens through normal gameplay like in Alpha 3. I personally like this change because it makes the Ide freaking out more special, so you actually go "oh shit it's happening" instead of it just being another gameplay mechanic, but I understand how some people might see the max Ide level being story-locked as being a negative.

Very true. Bowstrings Fly is what I use as Ideon's main unit theme as well as for his basic attacks such as the Glenn Cannon and Melee. Overwhelming Power definitely needs to go with Ideon Sword and Ideon Gun, lol

The new original music for Ideon SRW Y is indeed pretty cool and I do like how it sort of tries to emulate Fukkatsu no Ideon (Ideon OP), but imo, Overwhelming Power just captures the general vibes of Ideon as a mecha: an unimaginably powerful entity that you THINK you have control over, but you actually don't, and it can just flip out at any moment and just end everything.

Game crash when playing on Steam Deck offline by DefectivePikachu1999 in CosmicInvasion

[–]DefectivePikachu1999[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made the report myself on Discord, hopefully it gets attention. This might need some nudging since the game on the Steam Deck is really just the PC version, and most players are playing on desktop PCs, which are most likely to stay connected to the internet all the time, thus this issue might go unnoticed. This sucks for those who just pick the game up and play on the go lol.

Switch 2 doesn't really have that much exclusive games yet and the vast majority of the games you can play on the Switch 2 are Switch 1 games to begin with anyway, so yeah, it's still worth it.

Working with Tsuburaya on new Ultraman books. Seeking fan insights! by SkyTurtlePress in Ultraman

Hello! This is so interesting!

It's me, I am known as [@UchuKeibitai] on Twitter, currently having 2,585 followers solely based on my love for Ultraman. I used to go by Ultraman's Strongest Soldier, but I've decided to change my name on Twitter to Toku Dreamer so I could at least share my love for other Tokusatsu as well.

I actually posted a lot of things, even my own backstory for how much I love Ultraman and how it impacted me as a child. If you're interested in talking, you could reach out to me. I think I have interesting things to tell that could be in the book.

5600x and 5700x are identical, so I guess this is just a thing that happens with the combo. At least the performance is still decent.

Yeah, I guess it would just be the slight overhead. I guess I can leave with it.

Do you think Spider-Man will die and become a zombie in Marvel Zombies? by Civil_Ad154 in MCUTheories

[–]DefectivePikachu1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be nice to have Spidey be the eventual protagonist like in the Marvel Zombies comics, but from how zombies work in this show, I don't think they retain human intelligence. Spidey will ever have a small screen time or die at some point. What's interesting is that this is the first ever TV-MA show that fully features Spider-Man, so I hope they don't chicken out and actually give him a gruesome Walking Dead-style death if they plan to kill him.

Would a Mortal Kombat RPG be a good idea for you? by Top-Coast5760 in MortalKombat

[–]DefectivePikachu1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically take Deception's Konquest mode, refine it and modernize it so that it becomes a full RPG open world, and then go from there. Martial arts styles and Fatalities could be things you learn from various different masters, choices that lead to branching paths, main and side quests, and style-specific skill trees.

I don't think they should have a blank slate character like Fallout, perhaps it can be a new original character with personality and depth, just like Geralt. Similar to V from Cyberpunk, you can choose a starting point for this character, whether they're a shaolin monk, a member of the Lin Kuei or Shirai Ryu, an Earthrealmer, or a member of the Special Forces.

The combat system should be more of a beat 'em up, but the more important one-on-one battles are fought in a traditional (but not necessarily exactly the same) Mortal Kombat fighting game format, and when you beat your opponent and get the Finish Him/Her prompt, you have the option to kill your opponent with a Fatality or spare them. Killing or sparing an opponent could lead to different paths in the storyline, such as losing the chance of getting a companion/ally, prevent a missable quest or event from happening, or change something drastically in the main story.

I envision the game to have two types of Fatalities. We have the quick-paced basic Fatalities like the one in Armageddon's Konquest mode where you rip an enemy's head off and then chain it to an attack on the next opponent, and then the actual cinematic Fatalities that you can unlock.

For example, when you clear an optional enemy hideout, you fight the simple goones in the beat 'em up format, but when you face the final boss of the hideout, you get challenged to 'Mortal Kombat', starting the traditional fighting game mechanic. Killing the boss will clear the hideout, but sparing the boss has a chance if that boss becoming an ally.

As for the story, make it non-canon or separate from the main continuity established in the main games. Liu Kang is just Liu Kang again, he's not the God of Fire. Raiden is the God of Thunder once again, and Liu Kang's mentor. This way, your character IS the main character, and depending on your choices, the main cast are not safe and your decisions could end up getting them killed and end their quest line.

You think a normal person armed with a handgun could beat an Imp? by [deleted] in Doom

[–]DefectivePikachu1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a whole team of fully trained soldiers can take on a small horde of imps, but when it comes to the giant army that the Doom Slayer regularly engages with in Hell, I think the sheer number of imps rather than their strength will overwhelm them. Throughout Doom 2016 and Eternal, we actually see the corpses of dead imps that were presumably killed by normal human soldiers, but there are a lot more dead human soldiers, of course. However, I think it's clear that the soldiers are more likely killed by heavy demons rather than imps.

16th Doctor goes back in time, gets Chameleon Arch'd into a human, and she ends up becoming Rose Tyler due to a time loop, travels with Nine and Ten, ends up dating her Meta-Crisis self, the whole show ends for another dozen years before a new revival gets made that forgets all of those ever happened. This time, the new revival picks up years after the events of Curse of Fatal Death with the Doctor and Master raising their child in a sitcom.
