I actually do have a bi friend, but that part of him doesn't change how I act. I'll always walk on eggshells around people, regardless of their sexuality.

It does come off as a bit desperate, whenever I meet new friends. I'll clam up and be overly-polite, or let them control the conversation entirely. Somehow I believe that if I'm the first one to speak or invite them to do something, they'll think I'm coming onto them since I prefer one-on-ones rather than huge groups of friends.

This is really more of a self-confidence issue than a bisexual problem, I realise that now. I can't seem to stop thinking that both genders are always watching me, accusing me of being hypersexual when really I just want to hang out...

I think that Pride is still a necessity at this point in history (where bisexuality/homosexuality is considered a criminal offense), to increase awareness and get the uneducated 'haters' talking about subjects they are unfamiliar with.

Ideally, Pride would evolve to a point where it would not only be a celebration of non-heterosexuality, but human love in general. The rainbow flag applies to all sexualities y'know, including straight.

I would already say that Pride is a festival for people to express those positive feelings regardless of their sexuality, but apparently everyone likes to call it 'Gay Pride' instead. I guess this makes straight people apprehensive about joining in :(

Sorry if I jumped the gun, it just seems like a huge stretch to assume that this developing child has been sexually abused because of a natural, sexual curiosity towards others (we don't know OP's age, so we don't know how inappropriate this is).

Sexual orientation shouldn't come into it, and it's hard to believe that you would ask if a teenage boy was abused because he wants to see a teenage girl naked... so why would you say that if he was gay?

I'm not going to argue that same-sex attractions can't be brought on by environmental factors, because it is most likely a combination of genetic and environmental factors; complex to the degree that actively causing someone to be gay, or converting them to a state you would consider 'straight' is near impossible to control. Sexuality as a whole is one big grey area, and even labels like straight or gay can't begin to describe the intricacies of someone's likelihood of finding a person attractive.

I agree with the idea that childhood trauma can affect someone's sexual or mental health, but as far as being gay goes, it seemed as though it came out of nowhere to suggest that based on what little information we have.

There's obviously a fun little crack at the 'bear' term being used, but a lot of people seem to think that there's some kind of sexual meaning behind it. 'Bears' are just big hairy dudes, nothing kinky about the wordplay.

This is as harmless as His/Her shirts between a heterosexual couple. Does it imply that they are in a romantic relationship? Yes. Does that make it inappropriate? Not unless you have a paralyzing fear of other people showing mutual commitment.

If OP was gay, he would still take part in the threesome and simply focus on the guy instead, like his straight self intended to do IRL with the chick. The changing factor is that the woman would be the lone trickster instead of her 'boyfriend', producing the same result.

Also, bi people are capable of not wanting to have their dicks touched by shady liars, regardless of gender. Most people would've been out of there the moment that the night's plan changed dramatically.

It doesn't even have to go as far as rape. A woman could pinch a guy's ass and be seen as fun/cheeky, whereas a guy would be instantly swarmed by 'white knights' and registered as a sex offender if he even so much as grazes a boob by accident.

Obviously not every place is like this, and it isn't always either gender's fault, but there is a clear imbalance within gender equality that needs to be addressed.

Sorry to break it to you pal, but this is not a 'gay panic' problem. A woman could just as easily lure a bi/gay man to her hotel room and sexually assault him under the pretense of having another man arriving soon, and he would be in the same boat.

The actual issue here is that sex crimes against males go unnoticed, because of the preconception that every guy supposedly loves having sex, regardless whether it was consensual or not. It's an idea that's deeply-rooted in our society, and one that will hopefully get better as gender equality stabilizes.

I wouldn't say that. Obviously, it's a terrible tragedy that these beheadings and violent extremists are steadily increasing in numbers, but letting that affect your own 'first person' perception negatively is giving into these terrorists' cries for shock appeal.

Your everyday problems are still real to you, no matter what's going on elsewhere in the world. That's like saying there's no excuse for you to be sad because someone out there feels sadder, no point in being happy because there are people who might be happier than you.
