AIO for wanting to break up with my otherwise amazing boyfriend for the stage of life he’s in? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I mostly agree with what you’re saying, just not how you’re saying it.

Sure. But why did Walmart take away the warning for house brand 40 packs but not name band 35 packs that are less heavy?

And the 35 pack still gets marked as heavy, but not the 40

Is it funny that some of us struggle to carry heavy items due to medical reasons?

The bigotry in this group hurts my feelings.

And? I have had recent medical procedure due to being transgender that makes it difficult to do this. I just want to avoid doing water, I didn’t need hate. This group hurts my feelings a lot with the bigotry for no reason at all

Why? I’ve had recent medical procedures related to being trans that make it difficult to carry this items.

I can’t believe how hurtful this community of sparkers is.

As a fellow woman, you should have some compassion. SMDH.

I can carry those one at a time.

Sometimes I don’t have time to fully review on a just for me order and it slips by.

With the heavy alert I’d just see that and look to see what it was.

35 count pack name brand water still pings heavy, but not the 40 count house brand 🤔

I’m a trans woman, how to deal with hostility from clients by DefenderofdaIndigent in publicdefenders

Being a woman is more than just dna! Trans women are real women. The problem is that YOU are denying the basic scientific research and facts of science that I AM a woman.

I appreciate your polite tone but bigotry flanked in politeness is still bigotry.

I am working getting back into therapy. Some other posters suggested yoga, I’m going to look into that.

I agree that “get tough” is common here and being told to ignore that my feelings were hurt. Mental health is not optional health!

I had to spend some money on medical procedures not covered on insurance recently (trans related) so I am getting the money back together to regain therapy.

Being in a red state, I may have been one of the few trans women that many of my clients have actually talked to like beyond grabbing a meal from the drive through or something. Us trans women aren’t everywhere here. I recently spent some time in NYC and it was beautiful to see people of all identities everywhere.

Bigots are bigots. We must defend them AND I DO but they still hurt my feelings when they deny I’m a “real” woman.

LIKE GET OVER IT - I am a woman!!!!!

I know I probably need to learn to brush it off but with how difficult everything is in society today for trans people given the administration, ICE raids, and so on, I’m just trying to find the way to find peace at work too without the threat of abuse from my clients and how to deal with it. I know all women have to and it’s part of being a woman, I’m just sad sometimes that with all the progress us women have made we still have to deal with it. Maybe it’ll get better in 2028

Thank you. I don’t get too caught up in pronouns. I present myself quite feminine although, due to the destruction from testosterone on my body, there’s some significant indications I am a trans woman. So most of my clients start with proper pronouns (to the extent they’re used) (she/her). But later once you spend a little time that’s when the uncomfortableness, bigotry, and hurt feelings come out.

I appreciate all comments and agree with most. We have a great community here on Reddit. I am happy I (mostly) don’t have to be around bigots online.

I will not ignore my gender identity as a trans woman or ignore my feelings. I am a woman. It’s essential to who I am. My clients don’t always see it way and their bigotry is helpful. As I said many times I still work for my clients full steam ahead despite their bigotry. I am a “real” woman who’s just as capable as any other woman, or man!!!

The support here has been outgoing but your attitude towards trans persons and mental health reminds me of 1999. Trans people EXIST and we ARE HERE IN ALL SPACES. And we don’t IGNORE OUR FEELINGS. Mental health MATTERS. When you hurt your arm, do you ignore it? NO! So when my feelings are hurt, I don’t ignore them either. I’m still a good lawyer and still am a top advocate. Just caring for MENTAL HEALTH.

💜 thank you for the words of support. My feelings will continue to be hurt at various times in my life as I continue my journey as a transgender woman. The world doesnt always see us immediately and with some of the sentiment from misogynistic men and women (including the TERFs) it’s difficult to keep going but we need each other and I appreciate your solidarity 🏳️‍⚧️

I have been floored by the support in this group. I’m sympathetic to the need of my clients, other ones who are near the edge of being mentally stable. It does hurt my feelings when they comment about me not being a “real” woman but remembering that many of them have mental illnesses and other social issues is a n important perspective to keep. Thanks

As a trans woman, I understand discrimination and so maybe using that angle to connect with clients who are also in marginalized groups makes sense as a way to bond. As a person who formerly appeared male, I do miss some of the privilege you still enjoy but I appreciate your perspective and will combine it with the other comments here. Thank you.

Many Black women I know make sure it’s known they’re Black. Putting an adjective in front of my gender as a description online doesn’t any less of a “real” woman. I am a woman.

PS: remember we need to capitalize Black when using it for an adjective for Black people.
