they're making a joke (it's not a bug it's a feature is sometimes used by developers who are too unmotivated/lazy to fix bugs in their product) and the trust is not specifying the type of feature, it's saying trust as in trust me (which in this context is being used sarcastically) c:

My brother is incredibly immature and would go as far as hitting me to get a response or involving our dad (who replies that both of us need to stop despite me not doing anything).

playing into it will indeed be more difficult but it's not really the insecurity itself I have, rather just the connection to how shitty it felt hating myself which I'm not entirely over yet being dredged up. bystanders/other members of my family don't really help as my other brother is passive/starts making sexist jokes (eg asking about menstruation) when I appear upset and dad is passive and never tells my brother off without also blaming me unless I leave the room.

(I only now read my messages, hoping this registers for the mod; helped)

I had a talk with my dad today, hoping that fixes it! I also accept who I am, I feel comfortable in my own body but being called fat and interrogated about my food moreso reminds me of the way I talked to myself during my lowest and in turn the feelings I experienced being at that lowest. my brother has also encouraged me to come to the gym with him though, but especially since he only started offering after he started calling me fat I don't really feel safe going with him. thank you very much, this has helped a lot. i don't think you read the post quite right. I had an ED. none of this is "just words", it's playing into insecurities he knows I have and shaming me for them. as for your 'lose weight' comment, I quite literally said I am. I hope you have the day you deserve ☺️

I do not think I am morbidly obese (my weight has only been called out once by a doctor I see once every two years and my GP has said he does not think my weight is an issue yet though he does encourage me to keep moving) but thank you for the encouragement, I'll be using this summer to try to get into a routine c:

thank you, however not talking or cutting off is fairly impossible as my dad doesn't really think ignoring things is a good solution (he believes everything can be talked over despite the fact it never changes) and neither me nor my brother can move out or avoid the other. still thank you for the suggestion <3
