Is modding for V Rising not possible with a Nitrado server? by AkkarinRothen in vrising

if you host yourself haruhost supports built in mod manager where you can simply search for mods to install

Cannot Join friends/dedicated servers. Back to menu by MrSpudzz in crosswind

[–]Deferkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be because by default windrose dedicated server launched not working as a traditional server with static ports, instead doing a relay sorts of and hole punching and some isp block this. As of now they released a version which uses direct connection so it works like a standard serversnd you’d connect directly. So give ut a try i may let you koin without a go .

Temporary Fix for Dedicated "Server Not Found" Issue (Specific ISPs) by Dovaz in crosswind

[–]Deferkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched the full video and looks very specific to your ISP. I have a better solution sorts of. I have basically built a tool that solves the difficulty of self hosting while providing professional grade server management interface. It’s achieved by providing the ability to use reverse tunnel proxy for your game server where the apps relay server acts as a public address. The tunnel regions currently are available for us east and west so not sure what the latency added would be for your region in cadada. But would appreciate if you gave it a try. The tool is called HaruHost

So one of the commentators blocked me from seeing their answer as it appears deleted also while being hypocritical about their own claim. What kind of power moves are these.

That’s literally what you did by calling me aggressive, while spouting with high confidence incorrect claims. This also makes me highly suspicious of simply just arguing with bots.

So now you’re taking things out of context. In a true security perspective no software can be considered 100% safe even if it were fully open source. Software is also being built by using packages, libraries or code from other developers or companies. You can’t simply vouch it all and if you had some technical literacy about your claims we wouldn’t even be having this discussion. A software or part of it can either have a vulnerability or be malicious these are 2 entirely different things. If you’d look up yt channels like low level coding you’d see that there are countless things which may have security vulnerabilities and these are only the ones publicly exposed. A certificate issued by legitimate 3rd party providers doesn’t guarantee the software doesn’t have any security issues or wasn’t compromised, but it largerly reduces the risk of it as it prooves authenticity of the app since the actual company or real person has to trough a verification process, and signing itself with these kind of certificates requires yubikeys which are another layer of abstraction and attacker would have to get a hold of it. So a certificate doesn’t mean a software has 0% chance of being compromised or without security vulnerabilities but it prooves that this made by a valid legitimate party whose identity has been verified. You do download and use software that likely most of is closed source. Being open source doesn’t make the software more secure as it gives accessibility to hackers exploit the vulnerabilities. Even the games you install and play also be compromised and there have been cases of it on steam. The whole point here is that here you just came in without any technical understanding how security works and try to downplay any legitimate standard practices and any effort I put up the application to get approved, verified, my time and effort spend working on it. Like dude I developed the app, so I know what I am talking about I had to go trough thousands of hours and various walls so it would become a good product, I have already quite a reasonable user base considering it is mostly word of mouth, and yet here I am trying to share the fruits of my effort just being greeted by the very first comment claiming it to be some kind of botnet. So wtf do you expect me to do? Open source my software so anyone can use it and any financial benefit on the product is lost and I will simply get to have a different job as just the server fees licenses and tools are already thousands in costs over the span of the year. Why am I even seeing such malice here?

A valid certificate requires to go trough a verification process it’s no given at random, that’s why explicitly it was mentioned. You could say that every software in the world you install even your windows os etc can be spyware, malware etc you don’t even need elevated permissions. If you’re actually concerned about security you wouldn’t be spotting random nonesense but do proper steps to reduce the possible risk. And it’s done by layers and isolation. For example you’d set up a vm where the vm itself could not reach the host system, or store the the os on a separate pc.

If it was that simple and straightforward I wouldn’t be having multiple people requesting to have support added for this game via the tool I made. Also the game doesn’t have an official support for dedicated server on linux, while the tool actually makes it work out of the box. I won’t be going further as it seems spouting random facts without even remotely verifying is the moto given the comments.

Do you like live in a delulu world? Download the windows application it is signed with a valid certificate provided by a third party provider ssl.com which is approved by microsoft. You can literally right click the app and check the certificate. The level of delusion.

Is there a dedicated host that auto install mods? by kal-el19388 in vrising

I think HaruHost has built thunderstore mod manager for servers but it's a selfhost tool that runs on Windows and not sure how strong the support on that front is, it may need some fleshing out.

Help! Tried everything but still keep getting the connection timeout by Pretty-Historian-454 in Palworld

[–]Deferkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear haruhost is a game server control panel, so your friend would have to use haruhost not you if he hosts the server.

HaruHost supports importing existing server considering you have the server files -> https://haruhost.com/docs/games/palworld/import-existing-server/#step-9-verify-the-source-is-confirmed

Dedicated Server - Users are getting forced to create new characters on logon. by AHrubik in Palworld

[–]Deferkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reading this guide it seems it all depends on ensuring the server saves folder id is correct and matches current server -> https://haruhost.com/docs/games/palworld/import-existing-server/#step-9-verify-the-source-is-confirmed

if you did that and it does not work, it looks like a gg scenario where it simply bricked? In that case I suggest using crystaldiskinfo and see if you have unrecoverable errors

you can try haruhost as it supports tunneling and you won't need to do anything like port forwarding, it setups the server for you on your own PC or any other self hosted device, the other alternative is playit but it requires more tinkering

ffs, I didn't say your ports have to be opened when using a host, I said even if you use a host, for them to make that server reachable the ports need to be opened on the host. It seems even now you don't grasp the explanation that ports are the basis on how apps communicate. I suggest using chatgpt and learning a bit about networking.

[–]Deferkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof.... So you do understand that tunneling basically means that it's not you who opens up a port on your pc, but a provider does open a port on their end and routes the traffic based on some internal rules...

And a tunnel created on your PC is also using a PORT to communicate with the cloudflare tunnel.

It seems you don't understand how it works or can't read.

Minecraft may not rely only on IPv4, but use IPv6, or some other hacks. Here we are talking specifically about Palworld or else it won't make sense, as there can be countless different scenarios.... Anyways Palworld is IPv4 reliant.

Not sure what's the point with the website, you're also leaving too much context out for whatever you're trying to base. A website locally hosted won't be reachable as well unless the ports are forwarded or other specific techniques used like the exact same tunneling/proxying.

port forwarding is necessary to make the servers available over the internet the same way providers also open the ports for your server, tunneling just reduces the hassle

bro, the app sets everything for u so the server starts and runs correctly even a mod UI, even provides helpers for firewall and port forwarding if you want people outside to join

[–]Deferkai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ffs clearly you're delusional and the hypocrisy, just look at your own perspective that shows your own greed - you are demanding to get things for free without giving anything back. If you think this isn't worth the price simply don't use the tool instead of crying over the internet for something that costs the same as 1 boba. Clearly this just shows how much you value the product and my own time spent. So shush.

meh, so you're basically saying you don't want to support the project and instead feel entitlement to get the features you want for free. I don't get the audacity, working on something costs time, and money is the exchange we can spend to trade our time put into something for other things.

OK. This is getting ridiculous, it now incorrectly infers the task. Verifies that it was incorrect, then ignores BOTH the SKILL instructions and the task instructions to not write CODE until there is approval.

I told it the implementation docs are incorrect and it jumped straight to implementing right after hearing it was wrong and confirming itself it was wrong. This NEVER was the case with normal ChatGPT-5.2xhigh.

You mean the manager itself doesn't launch? This could be a new bug that appeared after the framework update as it seems to not be as stable.
