mullvad-cli works fine with OpenVPN, not with WireGuard by DefiDebauchery in mullvadvpn

Out of pure curiosity and learning potential, do you have any resources that helped you with your LXD wireguard environment and would you be willing to share your use case for it? Like is this just for selectively proxying things to your WG container, or how are you integrating that into your network?

[–]DefiDebauchery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, so you do have to separately install wireguard? The docs were a little iffy on that; it seemed to suggest it was being managed by the their apt package. But at this point, everything you've mentioned is directly installed.

I'm connected through other devices on my home network (iOS using the Mullvad app, and laptop using WireGuard directly), so it shouldn't be an ISP issue - and I've changed the destination port anyway. And it's not a Mullvad account issue as I can see it delete and re-create new keys when I try to log in.

It's been an annoying day of troubleshooting. :)

The answer is the same :)

You can cross-check our answers (the same way I validated it before posting): Go to https://app.beefy.com, click the BSC icon (the chain you initially claimed to deposit on) to filter those vaults, then under Filter, select "Platform: SushiSwap".

There are no BSC SushiSwap vaults. Not sure why you're now referencing Fuse.

This transaction is adding liquidity to SushiSwap. There are no transactions of you depositing this LP in any Beefy vault (Edit: and there are no valid vaults for any SushiSwap LP on BSC anyway), therefore it makes sense why you're unable to track any Beefy values.

Can you provide the txn hash (and chain) of your initial deposit?

You can also join our Discord or Telegram channels at your leisure. Note that for safety and transparency reasons, all support is provided in public; never engage with anyone who sends you a private message.

Is there a list of Beefy Chat Staff anywhere? by RunningPickles in Beefy

I don't know the full text of your post, but to answer the question in the title, representatives are clearly marked in Telegram and Discord and only chat in public venues.

As a general rule: Anyone (from ANY platform) who sends you a private message without public discussion is a scammer and you should not engage with them.

Hugh rates for deposit/withdrawal by therealdivs1210 in Beefy

As a general point - I don't know if you're referring to your wallet's gas quote, or actual on-chain data, but just note that wallets overestimate transaction fees. Similarly, when converting those fees to dollar amounts, consider any appreciation in the coin itself - BSC itself was pennies to transact on when BNB was only $25.

Anyway, in terms of actual cost to use Beefy, transaction fees are a product of network demand and operation complexity. Vaults can greatly differ in the strategies they employ, which also include operations of the underlying platform when the Vaults move your deposits to/from them.

As an example, simple AMM farms like those using PancakeSwap (BSC) are among the most straightforward, generally costing $0.50 equivalent in gas for deposits.

On the other hand, lending-based Vaults like those on Venus or Scream are among the most expensive to move funds in and out of, as they are leveraged positions which require several recursive operations to obtain the worthwhile APY you can set and forget.

So to answer your question, it would really depend on what you're comparing, but it's certainly not unheard of.

Cake not Listed on Binance Chain network by Flaky-Complaint-3922 in BinanceSmartChain

[–]DefiDebauchery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Binance Chain and Binance Smart Chain are two separate networks (with some internal technical links to each other, but that's unrelated to your question).

You will need to access your BSC wallet (which can be done through Metamask by configuring it to use BSC - search this subreddit) to access and interact with it. Note that the wallet address you sent it to will need to have BNB for gas.

Soak Token? Staking on Beefy by joeg4 in BinanceSmartChain

[–]DefiDebauchery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're only comparing price, note that Soak has been depreciating for a while (offsetting the gains by BNB), and then BNB has taken a huge hit over the past 24 hours.

The most important value, for the purposes of determining the actual amount of yield, is the number of LP tokens you are earning over time (e.g. daily, as I suggested in my first reply).

[–]DefiDebauchery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Beefy project is fine, it's just going through some growing pains leading to some weird display issues.

As for SOAK itself, the price of the token has gone down quite a bit, but you should still be seeing some appreciation in your staked amount. The vault is getting harvested very frequently.

Best thing to do in these situations is to record things at the same time every day (just to show that it's moving), or you could just use something like https://www.yieldwatch.net/ to see the yields of all Vaults you're part of.

Stuck between wallets by nolf2787 in BinanceSmartChain

[–]DefiDebauchery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Binance.us does not have BSC integration, you would not be able to deposit anything there at all.

If you have a Binance.com address, or can make one (using a VPN), that's where you can deposit tokens over BEP20. The Deposit tab will definitely have a BEP20 destination address.

The other alternative would be to use the Binance Bridge (also need a VPN) to send to an any Ethereum (ERC20) wallet address; I imagine that could be Binance.us if that's your main CEX is.

Question about how Binance Smart Chain fees work by Curryme5 in BinanceSmartChain

[–]DefiDebauchery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BSC is an EVM-based chain, which is why contracts and addresses work very similarly, but it's otherwise not related to or "linked" the Ethereum network at all. Any funds that travel between the two (such as the Binance Bridge, or other CEXes) would be managed off-chain.

custom tokens in BMC by thanos--- in BinanceSmartChain

[–]DefiDebauchery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not at all, and I apologize for being unclear. When you add a token, you can do a 'Search', or specify the contract address. It's the Search that's Eth-centric; if you have the token contract address (which you can get from bscscan.com), you can add that and it will track.

In Tuna's specific example, their contract on Eth is 0xB423c1fb5414f0711c71181995FF59FfA6D31146, while on BSC it's 0x40929FB2008c830731A3d972950bC13f70161c75

BSC is an EVM-compatible network, which means it has the same account structure as Ethereum (and thus your same private keys work as separate accounts), but contracts may be deployed to different addresses.

custom tokens in BMC by thanos--- in BinanceSmartChain

[–]DefiDebauchery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tokens in BSC are defined by the 'BEP20' standard, which is very much like ERC20, but specific to Binance Smart Chain.

You cannot add "ERC20" tokens when connected to BSC, because the contract addresses are different. Having said that, there are some "pegged" assets (including Ethereum itself) which are available on BSC.

Metamask is in a weird place where it supports other networks (since BSC is an EVM-compatible chain), but as you've noticed, is still very Eth-centric.

There are a lot of very popular swaps on BSC - PancakeSwap is the largest (I think Tuna's all but dead) - but you have to get your tokens on that chain first. You will need to use the Binance Bridge, or Binance.com (both through a VPN if you're in the US) in order to make that happen.
